Brilliant 3 days at Dreamforce at the CONVAYR stand in the Trailblazer Forest. Virtually every person we spoke to (which was a lot) had a similar story to tell about integrations which seemed to fall into 1 or more of 3 themes: COST & TIME The tools they were using required significant financial and time investment - this makes sense for a subset of use cases but for many businesses and many integration and synchronisation use cases, why use the full on sports car that takes half an hour to warm up and specialist servicing to do the shopping and the school run when the reliable, speedy, and cost effective to run daily driver is the best option? HARD TO USE, OFTEN NEEDING SPECIALIST SKILLS The integration itself requires specialist skills to build and maintain, or the User Interface becomes clunky very quickly as soon as you try to step outside a narrow use case. PROHIBITIVE PRICING STRUCTURE The pricing structures we were told about meant the more data people moved, the more it cost them - 'consumption' pricing models can make sense when that consumption directly correlates to the outcome, such as revenue increase but often it doesn't and can make it difficult to forecast budget. Generally, the costs will only ever increase over time. Wow, has it really been 3 years? Time sure does fly by! Reflecting on my journey at Salesforce, it’s been an incredible roller coaster ride. I started in a non-traditional role as a Developer Evangelist, where I had the privilege of helping grow our developer community, running hackathons & workshops, and scaling our mobile, platform, and multi-cloud story. Today, as a Technical Architect, I’m excited to be driving our Data + AI and Copilot initiatives. This journey has been truly transformative; not just because of milestones like earning my first 3-year surfboard trophy 🏄♂️ or presenting on big stages, but because of the amazing opportunities I’ve had to learn, innovate, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry and our passionate Trailblazer community. One of the most rewarding aspects has been pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and seeing the real-world impact of our work on both our customers and the broader tech community. I’m incredibly thankful for the leaders, colleagues, and friends who have been part of this journey. Your guidance and support have been instrumental in shaping this path, and I’m eager to continue learning and growing together. February marks one year since I got the opportunity to join the System Team(with a team name like The Avengers, who could resist 😁). So this seemed like the perfect opportunity to take a step back and look at what we achieved during this time. During day to day activities we often get “lost” in work. We are constantly chasing the next goal so we forget to pause and look at what we achieved so far, thus missing the opportunity to be proud of all the goals we accomplished in the meantime. Over the past year, our collaborative efforts have yielded remarkable results: - Transitioning from quarterly Big Bang Production Deployments to weekly Production Deployments, enhancing our agility. 💥 - Transforming team mentalities and refining delivery processes for seamless implementation. 📝 - Achieving an impressive 90%+ First Time Right Deployments, a significant leap from the previous 20-30%. 📈 - Shifting from individual responsibility to team ownership, fostering a sense of collective achievement. 👭👫👬 - Cultivating improved communication within teams and across the Tribe, creating a positive and vibrant atmosphere. 🎶 - Introducing a dedicated Issue Tracker app, eliminating the need to chase individuals for support. 🔎 - Streamlining our Daily Troubleshoot calls, reducing call durations from 30-40 minutes to a mere 5-10, saving valuable time and energy. 📉 This merely scratches the surface of our accomplishments. I take pride in being part of this transformative journey and eagerly anticipate the exciting developments on the horizon.
