From Intern Tears to ESG Dreams! I decided to post my first exciting toilet selfie at DNeX! It was my first day of internship, and I was so nervous 😂 The first thing I was told to do was read the integrated report, and I was so clueless, just enjoying all the graphics in there. While waiting for my supervisor, Mohd Hariz Nazimuddin, to finish his meeting, I browsed the Sustainability Statement. It sparked some serious introspection - was ESG the right path for me? (Fun fact: There were a few tears shed during that first week!) My team was amazing, but the transition from student to corporate life was a challenge. (Independent woman in the making, but maybe not this kind of independence!) During a lunch session with my HOD, Ms. Sharifah Kasim, and my SV, the nerves kicked in again! But I answered their questions honestly, sharing my life goals and aspirations. I emphasized my eagerness to learn and explore new things. Fast forward, I ended my internship with a wealth of experience! I'm incredibly grateful to my colleagues for putting up with my Gen Z humor😂 (and occasional goof-ups). On November 2023, they surprised me with a job offer! (Yes, at that point, I was fully on board with becoming a 'corporate woman'.) This journey wasn't always easy. There were late nights, tears (my mom got a lot of calls!), and moments of self-doubt. But this experience has truly shaped me, and I'm excited to see what the future holds in the world of ESG! P.S. Now that I love my ESG career, I'm always open to tips for excelling in this field!
