#Case_No_21 Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). HCC (Hepatoma) is a primary liver cancer that can often be detected on ultrasound imaging. On ultrasound, HCC typically appears as a focal liver mass that is heterogeneous in echotexture, with a mixture of hypoechoic and hyperechoic areas. The tumor may also show posterior acoustic shadowing, and small HCC nodules can sometimes appear isoechoic to the surrounding liver paranchyma, making them more difficult to visualize. Doppler ultrasound may reveal increased vascularity within the tumor. Overall, the ultrasound appearance of HCC can be variable, and other imaging modalities like CT or MRI are often required to further characterize the lesion and make a definitive diagnosis. #sono_made_easy #Ultrasound #Medical_imaging #Liver #Radiology
