Afrimash's mission to Energize Agriculture in Kogi State, Nigeria.
Our most recent expedition to Kogi State, part of the World Bank and RMI-sponsored Rural Electrification project, was both challenging and enlightening. Despite treacherous roads and unpredictable weather, our team, including myself and Isaiah Amuda visited several communities with mini-grid facilities. We engaged with local leaders, youth representatives, and stakeholders, gaining crucial insights into their needs and aspirations.
These communities, primarily focused on palm oil, cassava, and maize production, showed a keen interest in Afrimash's offerings. The demand for processing equipment, particularly palm oil machines, corn threshers, and cassava processing units, was evident. Our coupon promo, offering 30-50% discounts, garnered significant attention, with some communities even proposing monthly procurement plans to ensure every individual benefits.
At Afrimash, we're uniquely positioned to meet these needs. Our robust supply chain, extensive logistics network, and partnerships with agricultural equipment suppliers & manufacturers enable us to deliver both mini-grid compatible and standard machinery efficiently. We provide comprehensive training, maintenance services, and easy access to spare parts, ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of supplied equipment. Our network of over 180 agents across Nigeria, coupled with warehouses in all six geopolitical zones, facilitates seamless last-mile delivery and community engagement.
We're calling on credit facility providers to join us in offering flexible financing options to these communities. Mini-grid operators like PriVida Power Limited in Kogi State, Powergen in Niger and Plateau States, and Accor Group in Edo State are invaluable partners in this mission. just like Charles Nwishienyi (CIBE, mMBA) and Esther Oni Together, we can transform rural Nigeria, energizing agriculture, and drive sustainable economic growth.
Join us in this exciting journey to empower communities and revolutionize rural electrification.

In Changunarayan in Nepal, many families are not aware that the water they consume could be contaminated with E. coli, and that it could make them sick. Local water supplies are often interrupted and inadequate, increasing the risk of contamination. That is why the Sarwacha programme aims to strengthen water systems and to ensure equal access to safe water for every household in the municipality.
Merina Maharjan and Bivor Maharjan, both programme officers at Simavi’s partner ENPHO believe that the only way to achieve this is by engaging communities, entrepreneurs and local governments simultaneously. This approach makes the Sarwacha programme a unique model for sustainable system-change. Read here why: https://lnkd.in/eWasBd94#Simavi#Sarwacha#Nepal#SystemChange#4Papproach#WaterJustice
A thrilling development is on the horizon! The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, as outlined by President Bola Tinubu, is poised to transform lives, benefiting over 30 million Nigerians.
The mega project will not merely connect points A and B. It's designed to open improved access to production centers and vibrant markets, redefining commercial possibilities for Nigerians.
Projects of such magnitude carry the heavy weight of economic transformation. They are catalysts, accelerating shared prosperity and nationwide development, ensuring a brighter future for millions.
As we gear up for this monumental change, I pose a question to you - How do you think such infrastructural developments can fast-forward our strides in challenging but rewarding sectors like Agriculture, Manufacturing and Retail? Share your thoughts in the comments

Here we are in Naivasha, Kenya, where we are formulating and developing a new important large infrastructural water project together with Kenyan stakeholders. This project will support to boost the country economy and create a significant amount of new jobs by providing safe drinking water to the Naivasha Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and to domestic water users. This SEZ is largely powered by cheap green energy and will provide a crucial trade hub connecting the Mombasa port with roads and railways to the hinterland in sectors such as agrifood and flowers. Given the green energy element the SEZ will also have a significant effect on reducing carbon emissions.
Providing a large and sustainable water source is a key challenge for the SEZ (that is located in a water scarce area) to be fully implemented in which this project aims to be the solution.
Royal HaskoningDHV and Rebel have joined forces and act as lead developers. However, we receive support and cooperate with several institutions including Vitens Evides International, the Dutch Embassy (EKN) in Kenya, Invest International and KIFFWA.

Ebase Africa was proud to produce a documentary on Safisana’s journey, which began in 2010 with a small-scale pilot waste processing plant on the outskirts of Accra. In 2013, with the support of a EUR 1,084,500 investment from the African Water Facility (AWF), the project scaled up to tackle waste management challenges in the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA), Ghana.
The Organic Fertiliser and Energy as Drivers project significantly improved sanitation, reduced disease, and enhanced waste management services—including collection, treatment, and recycling—in underserved urban areas. Through innovative and replicable business models, the programme promoted the recovery of faecal sludge to produce green energy and bio-organic fertilisers, with the potential for private sector investment to expand these efforts throughout the Greater Accra Region.
This multi-sectoral collaboration between the private sector, local authorities, and government agencies aligned with Ghana’s 2025 Shared Growth and Development Agenda and the African Development Bank’s Country Strategy Paper.
We are honored to have been part of telling this impactful story, showcasing how sustainable practices can drive progress in sanitation, energy, and socio-economic well-being.

🇳🇬Happy 64th Independence Day, Nigeria!🇳🇬
As we mark this historic day, the Waste Pickers Association of Nigeria (WAPAN) reflects on the journey of our great nation and our commitment to a greener, more sustainable future. Nigeria's strength lies not only in its rich culture, diversity, and natural resources but also in the resilience and determination of its people—including the often-overlooked heroes of our environment, the #wastepickers.
At WAPAN, we celebrate the vital role of #wastepickers in keeping our cities cleaner and more sustainable. These individuals work tirelessly to recycle waste, reduce pollution, and contribute to the circular economy. Their efforts align with the vision of a cleaner and healthier Nigeria that we all strive for.
As we celebrate 64 years of Nigeria's independence, let us also look forward to a future where #sustainability, #inclusivity, and #environmental protection are at the heart of our national development. Together, we can build a nation where economic growth goes hand in hand with protecting our environment for future generations.
🌍 Let’s keep working together to make Nigeria greener, cleaner, and stronger! 🌿

STATE OF GALAMSEY ADDRESS
Ghanaians 🇬🇭 have an incredible ability to shape our future, yet we often find ourselves creating the challenges we face.
Our beautiful rivers 🌊 and lakes 🏞️, once sources of life and sustenance, are now being polluted through reckless activities 🏭 and waste dumping 🚯. While we have vast seas 🌊 and oceans 🐚 that are difficult to harness for drinking water, instead of protecting our freshwater sources, we allow them to degrade.
Countries like Israel are forward-thinking 💡, investing heavily in desalination technologies 🏗️ to secure clean water for future generations 🚰. While they plan ahead, we continue to harm the very resources we depend on 🌱🚫.
It's a stark reminder that while we possess both intelligence and capability 🧠, our actions often fall short. We must take responsibility and work together to preserve our environment 🌿 for a sustainable future.

"Thrilled to share our latest project in the South of Tehran, Iran! 🌿 At Greenlend, we're empowering smallholder farmers to cultivate their dreams. Our recent Okra field project is transforming lives by providing financial assistance to farmers, enabling them to run their own farms and thrive. Together, we're sowing the seeds of prosperity and sustainability! 💚 #GreenlendProjects#EmpoweringFarmers#SustainableFarming"
Friday 9 February, 2024.
I met Mallam Abdullah a subsistence farmer who rely on annual rain fed crops to satisfy his basic family needs.
Mallam Abdullah just like many other small holder farmers in north west Nigeria are faced with extreme weather events such as drought and heatwave especially in sokoto.
The over reliance on chemical fertilizer and open burning practices of wastes further increase soil degradation, crop diseases and their vulnerability to climate risks.
Climate risk is a global issue, and of course a contributor to food insecurity.
Sometimes in 2021 UNICEF estimated that about 2.9 million people are currently critically food insecure in north west Nigeria.
What can we do to help Mallam Abdullah and other farmers affected by these problems.
Our startup adopts two pronged approach.
firstly, we collect and co process these wastes into bio organic fertilizer, directing it from harmful open burning practices and the immediate threat of environmental pollution.
Secondly, we produce biochar a carbon rich substance that helps revitalize the soil and also act as carbon sink.
We have aligned our venture with the SDGs 2(zero hunger) 9(industry, innovation & infrastructure) and 13(climate action).
I am highly optimistic about this project as It has always been my dream to establish a sustainable solution in the society.
Here 💪💪is to my team and I.
