10 hours left until my poll from last Monday closes. Interesting isn’t it? I also posted the same poll in one of my women’s groups on WhatsApp and the result there was: 92% for All of the above, 8% for Equal opportunities for all. Compared to the results here on LinkedIn, 72% for All of the above, and 28% for Voice in Decision-making. My thoughts on these results are: • for an all-women group, (preaching to the choir), there’s an added emphasis for Equal opportunities for all. There are retired corporate and civil servants in this group and I have heard for years that there are indeed UNequal opportunities at work for women. Highlighting for MORE Equality, and I would say Equity too, was unsurprising to me. • for a mixed group in LinkedIn, hearing an emphasis for a greater Voice in Decision-making makes me think - is it a matter of courage, of boldness, of fear, that doesn’t allow us to have the voice we need for Decision-making? Or, is it still the issue of patriarchy? (Sensitive issue with my son who has a good argument for countering his sister’s stand against patriarchy. I love listening to both of them!) The movement tries to defy and break the shackles of gender.It is the right of the women to have equal opportunities and they demand nothing out of benevolence. The virtual federation is trying to bring about a change in the usual mindset of people within the locale.The attempt is to start the change from one's locality and giving it a global structure in the coming years.

I promised to give updates about my experience as a UN Women UK delegate so far at #csw68 ... Too be honest, it is a bit mixed (and the app to navigate it does not help, my little Chief whatsapp group does). The number of events & topics is overwhelming. We are all quite busy and it is hard to fit them in next to your work and personal live due to short notice. It is also a little hit an miss (pending which session it is) but let's focus on the positive. 2 nights ago I was watching one of the late night talks and my 6 year old came to join me. We had a chat about the UN (I had to pause it as it was not a talk appropriate for her age) and why I try to be involved and she said: "it's good you do important stuff". (She thinks I get paid to sit behind a computer talking to people as that's her view on running a business, lol). There are also very serious discussions about challenges and how we can overcome them, making life better for women around the world, and working towards peace where there is conflict. The sessions that have explored women's strength and potential as entrepreneurs have resonated with me. Another fascinating topic is women's health. One I might share more about later (sharing a more personal story, still debating too be honest ...). Dame Lesley Regan shared 'I would like to live as well as I can for as long as I can... but that's not likely for many of us the way we treat women's health.' There is so much more to navigate and it is impossible to be involved in all. As they said in the beginning, even the little bits help so let's focus on that. #investinwomen

Today, I woke up to heartfelt messages from many male gender on my WhatsApp, expressing their concern about how the boy child receives little or no attention. This agitation was brought about as a result of the post I made yesterday.( Check my timeline to catch a glimpse) Same write-up was also posted on my WhatsApp Statuse. One of them said "Only a few NGOs caters for the needs of boys, most of them focus on girls" Their message resonated deeply with me. This is me voicing their concerns and adding my voice to theirs to amplify the message. Let's give the boy child the attention he deserves. They need it now more than ever. As the navigate through life, they also needs our attention and guidance, they should not be left alone. I have a story to share with you about the incident that happened on this Women's Day in my office. . . . Unfortunately, on Women's Day, it was a weekend here. As I was fully engaged with family and friends, I couldn't get into the pool of creative writing on LinkedIn this time. As our creative head suggested, I wrote 2 content for International Women's Day based on gender-social-financial-poltical inequalities women suffering. Option 1: SORRY! We cannot create a poster of a weak or a strong woman Consider her as a human #womenisalsoahuman Option 2 : Often WOMEN is the topic. Wait, Isn't they still just a topic? Women deserve all rights and opportunities not for the reason they are strong, weak, or for any other labels. But as a human being. As I always do, I shared it with the WhatsApp group and asked my colleagues to share their feedback. To my surprise, at the very next moment, our digital marketing manager opined that the first option looked aggressive. And the other guy said both are a little controversial. and at last, our General Manager asked me to polish it with some other words and to avoid the word 'Consider', as there are no such circumstances as 'not considering' a woman as a human in this age. Finally, I wrote ''SORRY! We cannot create a poster of a strong or a weak women They belong to us. Human Beings! #equalrights #equalopportunities . . Both men and women are involved in the making of content and successfully make it better with no chances of political incorrectness. I am quitting LinkedIn because I can't tolerate this harassment. My friend said this to me yesterday. It was a ground-shaking experience for me. When I joined LinkedIn,  I saw it as a professional platform. But currently, it’s not, especially for women. On Sunday’s live session with Imtisal Mehmood what happened was totally unexpected. Some people tried to spoil the session  and the session ended in 10 minutes. Yesterday, one of fellow female creator told  me someone insulted and threatened her in DMs. Seriously? Some people don’t know their limits. That’s quite shocking to me. This kind of thing has also happened to other  female creators who have left this platform. I also know 1-2 personally. This happens every day and is an ongoing  issue for female creators on LinkedIn. Do you know? 👉 Islam promotes women's rights. 👉 They work from home for a safe environment. 👉 They have the right to work within their limits. 👉 Many support their families and manage households. 👉 Women work for financial independence and empowerment. I salute all women and encourage you to keep going strong. P.S. I know, I have been MIA lately. To be honest, I have been too busy with my coaching jobs and clients to have any time to write anything and everything I want to post about. I have been talking to clients about their ideal salary ranges versus comfort zone range, where they want to be flexible and where they have hard boundaries, questions to ask during interviews and how to flip the conversation to make it two way and insightful for you as a job seeker. The younger me would be up late into the night - writing posts to keep the algorithm happy, and help job seekers get to their next YES. But the wiser me is making the choice to protect her time and energy, and refuel and rest. I give everything I can and more to my clients, job and teams every day. I choose to let it be enough. I saw this post on social media today, and it really is an excellent example of how diversity matters for innovative solutions. FYI: It's not men versus women. This is diversity of thought. This is working smarter not harder. This is including each other in the conversation. The result? Out of the box solutions! I am holding space for your next YES!
