HOW TO BUILD A GREAT TEAM LIKE AN EXPERT BAKER . . . A great team does not happen overnight. It is like the process of baking a winning cake. You start with carefully picking and gathering all the right ingredients—people from various backgrounds with the relevant experience, expertise, and temperament, to name a few. Then, you lovingly and patiently knead the ingredients together. The team gradually develops to be what you want it to be where: a. Each team member is empowered and encouraged to think as a cohesive unit. b. Environment is healthy and positive with constructive feedback and mutual support, and the whole is greater than the sum of its part. c. Mutual recognition of efforts and successes are celebrated. The ability for a group of people to do remarkable things hinges on how well those people can pull together as a team.” And what is a team? Sinek suggests, “A team is not a group of people that work together. A team is a group of people that trust each other.” So, the “secret” ingredient to building a great team is trust. As we work together, due to our differences, there will inevitably be tensions and conflicts. But if there’s trust, people will learn to work through issues and overcome challenges together. The son of a friend asked me today if I had to pick one thing that was pivotal in the success of a commercial product or service what would it be? I thought it was a great question with an easy answer. If your product or service is not good , a great team can fix it. If your product or service is great an ineffective team can ruin it. It’s the team that matters. If your on one, thank them. If your not, find one because otherwise you are wasting your time .

Ready to lead a high-performing team? 🚀    First, let's address the elephant in the room: Trust. 🐘 Breakdowns here lead to the 5 dysfunctions of a team.     ➡️ Fear of conflict: If you trust each other, healthy debates are not scary.     ➡️ Lack of commitment: Trust leads to faith in team decisions.    ➡️ Avoidance of Accountability: When trust exists, teammates hold each other accountable.    ➡️ Inattention to results: Mutual trust keeps everyone focused on shared goals.    Remember, a solid team is built on trust. Get that right, and you're on a path to greatness! 🌟

Loyalty is priceless—until it’s taken for granted. 5 ways I keep my team engaged: 1. Food has an incredible ability to bring people together. Sharing a meal during a team meeting or casual gathering can develop camaraderie, inspire conversation, and create a sense of oneness among team members. Furthermore, eating excellent meals together can enhance mood and create positive memories that help build a strong team culture. From pizza parties to potlucks to team meals at a good restaurant, there are several ways to use food to create friendships and improve teamwork. 😋

Once you have a goal you choose the right people to achieve it and then you simply get it.

If you create a team known for its inclusion, teamwork, support, and encouragement great talent will stand in line to join. It is important that you trust the judgement of the team. It is important that you listen to the members of the team. It is important that you do not micromanage your team but allow some autonomy. If you do these things great employees will be striving to join your team. The employees you have will stay and not look for someplace better. Remember you have to be a team not a Boss and those below them.

Having a good team isn’t just about how smart or experienced people are. It’s more important to help everyone work together, be happy, and have the same goals. --------------------------------- This is what I find effective when it comes to building a strong team. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥. Nothing empowers a team than knowing their hard work & commitment is acknowledged & appreciated even if they are paid for it. 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. ️ People like to be heard & valued, making them happy & more engaged in their work hence increasing productivity. 𝐁𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬. People thinking in different ways can help us come up with good ideas and work better together. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐧 😊 Laughter strengthens bonds and reduces stress. Think team-building activities, games, or even just celebrating someone's birthday ------------------------------------ If you help your team feel good about working together, you can do amazing things together.

In my first management position I discovered how to increase team performance by around 20%... I had a team of 23 police officers ranging from new joiners to seasoned cops. I realised your people fall into 1 of 4 groups. Each of which required a different approach: 1. Willing but unable - require training, patience, support, understanding. 2. Willing and able - require protection from overload, recognition. 3. Unwilling but able - identify with them why unwilling, address the cause. 4. Unwilling and unable - gather data, enter into a process which provides ample opportunity to improve. Escalate to dismissal if benchmark not reached. Do not lower your benchmark for fear of the uncomfortable. Understanding which group each of my team fell into helped me improve. It was fair. The workers were buoyed by the intervention.
