2 mistakes I made as a community manager that impacted community growth and engagement: My aim was to foster a thriving community. 1/ I prioritized quantity over quality → I focused on increasing the number of community members → I neglected building meaningful connections within the community → I spent too much time on community expansion 2/ I lacked a structured community management plan → I didn't address the specific needs and concerns of community members → I handled community issues reactively, rather than proactively → I didn't highlight success stories or testimonials from community members. These missteps led to a disconnection within the community. Or worse, it resulted in a lack of community growth. These mistakes hindered me from cultivating a vibrant and engaged community. Today I: 1/ Prioritize quality interactions over sheer numbers 2/ Implement a strategic, long-term community management approach ⇒ Now, my community is more connected, engaged, and supportive. Community growth isn't just about numbers. A well-executed strategy creates a sense of belonging. PS. Favorite community engagement tactic: polls or Q&A sessions? Enjoyed this? Do we need a “STRATEGY” to foster meaningful connections within a community?🫣 In my experience of nearly two years in community building, I've come to realize that it's not just about following a predefined plan, but rather about the individual contributions and interactions that make a community thrive. It's about recognizing that at the heart of any community are people seeking connection, validation, and a sense of belonging🩵 While having a strategy can certainly be helpful in guiding our efforts, I've found that the most significant impact often comes from authentic, human-to-human connections. It's about going beyond deliverables and brand objectives and focusing on making a real difference in the lives of those we interact with.✨ So, while I continue to learn and grow in my community-building journey, my focus remains on making a meaningful impact on everyone I encounter. After all, isn't that what true community is all about?🚀 #communitybuilding #community

Two powerful things I've learnt as a Community Builder over the recent years - You definitely need to know this if you're a community builder too. ✅ Number ONE: All you have to do is - bring people together! Rest will eventually pick up! It's better when you bring/allow the right set people!! ✅ Number TWO: The more challenging it is to get into a community, the best set of people come in. Too much of a challenge is also not good. These two has been an eye opener for me in this space! Now, every time I think of some gathering, I think about the Ideal Member Profile (IMP) of that gathering!! All thanks to Deepak Anna for bringing in some light into community space! Cheers 🚀 #CommunityBuilding #Challenges #CommunityBuilders #gsthina
