After many weeks of engaging with various charities and organisations, it’s become crystal clear that our communities need us now more than ever. The challenges of homelessness, hunger, addiction, and social isolation are not distant issues—they are happening right here in our neighborhoods. Charity organisations like One Voice, The Salvation Army, Phoenix Hub, and Arise Restoration Projects are doing incredible work to support those in need. But they can’t do it alone. It’s our shared responsibility to step up and support these initiatives, whether through volunteering, donating, or simply raising awareness. Together, we can ensure no one in our community is left behind. At the same time, we need to focus on the next generation—the future of our communities. Today, it’s far too easy for young people to fall into the wrong crowd or lose sight of their potential. We must provide them with opportunities that keep them engaged, motivated, and inspired. Sports programs, charity events, and mentorship opportunities can play a huge role in shaping the minds and hearts of our youth. These activities not only keep them active but also teach critical life skills like teamwork, discipline, and compassion. Let’s come together to: • Support local organisations tackling immediate community needs. • Create and promote initiatives that keep our youngsters on the right path. Because the future of our community is in the hands of the young people we inspire and guide today. Let’s invest in them and in each other. #CommunityMatters #YouthEmpowerment #TogetherWeCan #SupportLocalCharities #Blackburn

Post-COVID, many communities across Australia are facing challenges, from mental health issues to greater division. But together, we can make a difference. In this recent conversation with Joe from Own Home and my business partner James, we discussed the importance of rebuilding communities, especially in the wake of COVID-19. The mental health challenges and division that many communities face require collective action, and we’re committed to doing our part. At Community Builders Mortgage and Finance (CBMF), we’re dedicated to supporting local communities through initiatives that give back and help rebuild connections. Here’s how we’re making an impact: 💖 Charitable Donations: By donating a percentage of revenue to charities chosen by our clients, we help fund causes that matter most to the community. 🎉 Community Events: Hosting family fun days and local events to bring people together, support small businesses, and strengthen community ties. 💰 Increased Giving: Rising property values mean we’re able to donate even more, ensuring greater support for the causes that need it. We believe in the power of community and accountability, and we’re proud to be part of the movement to rebuild and strengthen Australia’s communities. Let’s continue working together to create a positive impact. #CommunityImpact #GivingBack #SocialResponsibility #CommunitySupport #StrongerTogether #Accountability #BuildingBetterCommunities #RebuildingAustralia #MentalHealthSupport #LocalInitiatives #CharitySupport #CommunityEngagement #PositiveChange #SupportingLocal #StrongerCommunities #MakingADifference

‘Tis the season to give back This year at People & Purpose, we’re taking a different approach to Christmas. Instead of physical gifts, we’re focusing on giving back to those who need it most. We’re proud to support two incredible charities: Foodbank Australia – helping provide essential meals to families and individuals who are facing hunger and food insecurity. Orange Sky Australia– delivering practical support like clean laundry, warm showers, and connection for people experiencing homelessness. Why these charities? Foodbank and Orange Sky are doing life-changing work every day, especially during the holiday season when the need is even greater. We hope this inspires you to think about giving back, too. If you were planning to give gifts this year, consider donating to these amazing causes instead. Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a real difference. Let’s come together to spread kindness, compassion, and hope this Christmas. For the sixth consecutive year I am fundraising for Hutt St Centre's Walk a Mile in my Boots campaign. August is one of my favourite times of year, not just because I get to wear my favourite colour every day of #NationalHomelessnessWeek, but also because I am able to use my skills in #socialmediacontentcreation and #storytelling to give back to my community. There is a lot to be said about the benefits of #volunteering and #fundraising, not just for how it impacts the people who rely on the cause you’re supporting, but also for personal wellbeing. 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀: 1. 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: Connecting with my community online and in person, having conversations and meeting people with aligned values helps me feel like I belong to something bigger than myself. 2. 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Actively supporting a cause that is important to me reminds me that I have the power to shape the world I want to live in. 3. 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Watching the total miles and donations gradually build over the week helps to sustain gratification and motivate progress towards my goals. 4. 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲: Supporting my community brings so much meaning into my life and allows me to live in line with my values. Participating in Walk a Mile in my Boots also fosters my wellbeing by encouraging me to move my body, spend more time in nature and practice gratitude and reflection. When I'm giving back I feel more motivated, hopeful and generally have an elevated mood. 🧡 Hutt St Centre provides essential services for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness in South Australia. If we’ve learned anything the past few years, it’s that our circumstances can change in the blink of an eye, and we rely on the communities around us for support through hard times. This week I am walking a mile every day, and adding a mile to this target for every $100 I raise. If you would like to support my fundraiser you can donate to my page here: https://lnkd.in/g8sHMkHf #walkamile #psychologicalneeds

🌟 Together, We Can Make a Difference This Winter 🌟 “It might look like Under One Sky are serving food and coffee, but they are in fact saving lives.” – Andre Rostant, Big Issue Seller As temperatures drop, the streets become even harsher for those without a home. This winter, we’re on a mission to raise £75,000 to bring warmth, dignity, and hope to those in need. Here’s why your support matters: 1️⃣ The Growing Crisis Street homelessness is tragically set to rise by 20% in 2024/25. To respond, we’re expanding our efforts, delivering 15,000 acts of care across London, Edinburgh, and Newcastle from November to March. 2️⃣ Building Lasting Change In 2025, we’ll launch a life-changing program designed to break the cycle of homelessness—transforming lives, one person at a time. Through mental health support, medical care, and tackling food and hygiene poverty, we provide more than immediate relief—we offer a pathway to a better future. This year, we’ve already achieved so much: ✅ Supported our homeless friends 30,000 times through 500 Skywalk events. ✅ Welcomed 660 new volunteers to our community. ✅ Expanded to Edinburgh, joining our work in London and Newcastle. ✅ Produced ethical underwear, supporting dignity and sustainability. ✅ Reached over 8 million people on YouTube, thanks in part to a major donation from Mr. Beast. ✅ Released our documentary, I’M STILL HERE, now available on Amazon Prime, Sky, and YouTube. ✅ Most importantly, saved lives and supported friends off the streets. But the need is greater than ever. 💛 Every contribution counts—whether it’s £20, £200, £2,000, or £20,000. Last year, private donations made up 43% of our income, making your generosity the foundation of our work. 👉 Donate today: https://lnkd.in/eSUTcZZm This is more than a donation—it’s a lifeline. Together, we can ensure no one is left behind this winter. #EndHomelessness #HomelessSupport #MakeADifference #CharityCampaign #WinterAppeal #TogetherWeCan #UnderOneSky #SupportTheHomeless #DonateNow #ChangeLives

We finally got our snowfall - pathetic as it was, and with the dark nights and wet weather, I am sure we would all love to just hibernate for 6 months. The question is, what happens when there isn't a warm home available to hide in out of the cold? Homelessness is on the rise across the UK with a record 27% growth in the last year but everyone deserves a roof over their head, a hot meal and somewhere safe to sleep. With Normedica headquarters containing several families, we are all very aware of how manic the season to be jolly can become, and how easy it is to forget what Christmas is actually all about. This year, as December looms, we wanted to just shout out about some of the charities who we think are doing an incredible job, and hopefully inspire you to do a little bit to help them with the work they are doing. Crisis began in 1967 as a response to the rising homelessness with the purpose of helping people to get out of homelessness, and campaigning for change in legislation. Since it began, it has not only helped thousands back into a home, but their relentless campaigning has helped to introduce important change that will hopefully massively benefit the homeless community. Your support is massive for them. If there is anything you can do, whether it be raising funds, donating or volunteering with your local branch, there are many ways that you can be there and help to be the change that is needed. Check them out today and see what you can do at www.crisis.org.uk #northumbrianmedicalsupplies #normedica #teamnormedica #crisisuk #poverty #volunteer #homelessnesscharity #homelessnessawareness #donate #community #fundraising #support #love #giveback #help #donation #fundraiser #education #donations #givingback #ngo #philanthropy #dogood #socialgood #family #charityevent #makeadifference #helpingothers #nonprofitorganization #hope #volunteering #change #charitywork

FREE DONATION DEADLINE REMINDER!!!! DECEMBER 1st!!! 26 years. That’s how long #ProjectWinterSurvival has been working to provide life-saving kits to those experiencing homelessness in Toronto and within 2 hours of the GTA. Honestly, I didn't think I'd still be posting like this when I founded the charity Engage and Change in 1999. But the harsh reality is: the temperatures are dropping, shelters are overburdened, and the need for support has never been greater. If you’re a charity, non-profit, agency, shelter, or drop-in program helping the homeless community, this is your chance to make sure you’re prepared for what lies ahead. Have you registered for donations for your organization??? Sunday December 1st is the deadline for agencies helping the homeless to apply for January 18, 2025 Project Winter Survival Kits—lifesaving resources for those braving the cold without shelter. APPLY HERE: https://lnkd.in/gGUmde4Y These kits are more than just supplies—they’re a lifeline. They include essential items like warm gloves, hats, sleeping bags, and hygiene products to help those on the streets survive the bitter cold. If you know an organization serving those in need, please tag them in the comments to spread the word. Let’s ensure no one who needs these kits is left out in the cold this winter. We can’t solve homelessness overnight, but together, we can ensure more people stay warm and safe.
