"Diving In Headfirst: Navigating the Exciting Waters of a New Position" Starting a new position is akin to standing on the edge of a diving board; it's a thrilling mix of anticipation, excitement, and a dash of nervousness. You're about to plunge into a new environment, learn new skills, meet new people, and perhaps even explore a new city. It's an adventure waiting to unfold, and you're the protagonist. First things first, soak in your surroundings. Observe the dynamics of your new workplace, the way communication flows, the unspoken rules, and the overall culture. This isn't about conforming but understanding the unique rhythm of your new environment. Also, don't hesitate to ask questions. It shows your eagerness to learn and adapt, and people usually appreciate the initiative. Remember, it's okay not to know everything from day one - no one expects you to. What matters is your willingness to learn and grow. Be proactive in seeking feedback and use it as a tool for improvement rather than taking it personally. Build relationships, not just networks. Genuine connections can often be your most valuable resource in navigating your new position. So, take the leap, embrace the unknown, and let this new chapter of your career story begin! #NorthDakota #SDjobs #SouthDakota #MTjobs #Montana #WYjobs #Wyoming #GeckoHospitality #WereHiring #LetGoAndLetGecko #GrowYourBusiness #Business #RecruitmentAgency #NowHiring #restaurant #foodservice #opportunity #hoteliers #hotelmanagement

We will never do what we dream of doing because we always made compromises somewhere along the way in our career. Not to brag, but I will because I have always worked my ass off, I have never managed a hotel or resort that is not profitable. Even a resort that have not been profitable while being managed by hotel management companies or highly paid expat GMs, I have turned it around in a short period of time. Why? Not because I am good GM but it's because I have learned that success in this cut throat industry can only be achieved, when you don't compromise. What are we supposed not to compromise on? Good management, standards of integrity, self respect, your health ,well-being and most importantly, not being enslaved by a certain lifestyle. While our self-esteem and true self-worth are not something that can be measured by the degree of monetary wealth we possess, we will need to be intelligent enough to save enough so that we will always do what is right (which all of us do know how to do it) and never compromise.
