In a world where hospitality often equates to service with a smile, Japan introduces us to a profound concept known as "Omotenashi." Deeply rooted in its history and cultural values, Omotenashi goes beyond customary acts of service. The concept based on three pillars – empathy, anticipation, and authenticity – embodies a heartfelt commitment to ensuring guests' comfort and satisfaction. To truly appreciate this distinctive approach, we must not only understand its meaning but also be willing to humbly receive it. In this article, we delve into the essence of Omotenashi, its prevalence in Japanese culture, and the delicate art of accepting it with grace, all while drawing insights from countless personal encounters I’ve had with Japanese Omotenashi over the years. https://lnkd.in/eBpH6cgQ

Leadership Development. Talent Optimization. Executive Coach. Cultural and Organizational Anthropologist.
What an insightful session this morning at Behind the Suit! We had the pleasure of learning from Mba Tirza Agata, Complex Director, Learning & Organizational Development at Pan Pacific Jakarta, as she shared her expertise on "Hotel Horror Stories: The Art of Handling Guest Demands." One of the key takeaways was how the hospitality industry remains a space where human talent is irreplaceable. While AI can automate processes, it simply cannot match the emotional intimacy needed to serve guests on a deeply personal level. Empathy, connection, and the art of making guests feel truly cared for—these are talents that only the right people in the right roles can deliver. This is why having the right talent in place is crucial, and with the help of tools like AI Talent Management by TalentDNA, organizations can ensure that people with the right skills and emotional intelligence are placed in the roles where they thrive. Missed the session? Don’t worry! You can catch the replay on YouTube and dive into how emotional service excellence makes all the difference in hospitality. https://lnkd.in/gPt-jhAP #HospitalityExcellence #BehindTheSuit #HumanTalent #AIandHospitality #BusinessTransformation #PeopleFirst #AITalentManagement #TalentDNA #ACTConsulting

NEW WORK and ACTIVITY BASED WORKING | Agile Manager, coach who empowers people & teams and performs well during change and crisis | Entrepreneur at heart
"RELAX & CROSS WITH SELF-CONFIDENCE" Just got back from Vietnam. No, I will not post how wonderful my trip was nor post stunning beach or landscape pictures but rather tell you what I have learned... 1) Sometimes chaos is a well organized swarming intelligence 2) A note on a hotel recommendation sheet in Hanoi has become my slogan for 2024 - see also the photo 😂 ....: "relax and cross the road with self-confidence". It works and I will apply it for whatever I want to achieve this year 3) Honking can be a communication tool 4) All that matters are our relationships 5) Sam, a dedicated guest relationship manager, always smiled and answered to my requests : "consider it done" - It made me feel great and valued. 6) Actively listening and noticing local people opened experiences I have not expected. 7) I am addicted to try new foods - it is one of my curiosity patterns which I carry with me. Good thing - food explosions; bad thing: short-term weight-gain 🤣 So let's start work with being relaxed and self-confident. I look forward to seeing my team and colleagues on Tuesday! #leadershipvalues #diversityandinclusion #changeleadership #bestplacetowork
