This is one of my favourite pieces of work from Ogilvy in recent years. I'd love to say that I worked on it... but I didn't. I do work very closely with the creatives that did though - Nicolas Maggie Bruno Jerome Aritra Pedro stephan. This campaign has all three ingredients of what I believe makes a great, #social-first campaign: #1 Something people will TALK ABOUT. Artotel did a remarkable act that was certain to get people sharing - they changed the product and created a new loyalty tier. #2 Something for people to TAKE PART IN. Rockstar status is available to anybody. Anybody who sees this could, therefore, participate. #3 Plenty for people to SEE & HEAR. Creating something talk-able is one thing, but for that idea to lend itself to stunning (and hardworking) assets that stand alone in paid and owned channels is quite another. Too many 'acts' or stunts never get seen enough. The ads at the heart of this campaign are perfect and do not rely on going viral - they're 'predictably good'.

Conocer tus clientes toma tiempo, pero... At the Raffles Hotel in Singapore - known globally for its impeccable service - each butler serves a “pantry” of about 20 suites out of the hotel’s 115. They Google all guests before their arrival to learn if there is anything they should know to be proactive in their services. Anticipating needs and surprising/delighting clients works wonders! At the Long Bar, their famous drink created in 1915 - the Singapore sling - costs $39, or $42 after tax....and each costs about $4 to make.....a 900% markup. Around $15 million is generated from this drink annually. Like an Hérmes Birkin bag, perceived scarcity is as valuable as actual scarcity? (Bloomberg)
