Perspective becomes so important in everything you do. You could be anywhere but how you see the world dictates how you feel about it. You could be the richest person in the world but if you see your glass half empty still so everything is worthless. Martin Seligman, a psychologist whose work revolves around the idea of optimism and its impact on our mental well being talks about what makes life worth living is dependent on your perspective of things. A pessimistic will always remain in the dilemma of wanting more because their glass is half empty and in the process never be satisfied. An optimist on the other hand will always be happy and fulfilled in everything they have because they see things in a positive light. The implications of the realist view in today’s time is valid but only to an extent. Till it helps you cope and doesn’t push you on the brink of pessimism. See the line is extremely thin, realism in a world like today is very close to that of pessimism and seeing things in a negative light because the situations around aren’t really positive. For me, the glass half full view is the best to view the world as it is a door to happiness.
