Today marks the start of National Inclusion Week and the theme carries a powerful message that resonates with us all - "Take Action, Make Impact." This year's theme challenges us all to take concrete steps towards inclusion. Whether you're a leader, part of an D&I team, or an individual, it's a call to think strategically: 👉🏽 What impact do your actions aim to achieve? 👉🏽 Why do you believe in these actions? 👉🏽 Who benefits from them? 👉🏽 Are there unintended consequences? 👉🏽 Is your approach fully inclusive and intersectional? 👉🏽 How will you measure impact? 👉🏽 Have you consulted those affected? Imagine the difference we could make by considering these points before making decisions, launching services, or designing new products. Stay engaged in the conversation about inclusion and accessibility by signing up for my free newsletter, where we delve deeper into topics like these and share insights for a more inclusive future, in bite-sized actionable tips. 📩 https://buff.ly/3Q05VG3 Image description: Shani, a South Asian disabled woman sitting at a table in Microsoft's offices. 1yWhen I was pushing wheel chairs at Manchester Airport ! We were not allowed to take Disabled passengers through Duty Free ? or to any of the shops air side ! Why should disabled passengers be denied the chance to get Wine - spirits - Tobacco products - perfume - Etc, Etc, Is that not discriminating against disabled passenger's ? 13/09/2023 Wheel Chair passengers are still not allowed to go to duty free ! Or accompanied Hidden disability passengers ! Think the management need looking at ? Or asked to explain ? Its got to be Discrimination ?? If no one asks to be taken it will never change ??
