The facility, which will produce sixth-generation batteries for BMW’s upcoming Neue Klasse electric vehicles, is set to create 1,600 jobs and boost BMW’s e-mobility efforts. Despite weather challenges, the project is on schedule, with production expected to begin in 2026. Volvo Construction Equipment launches the brand new A50 ADT and a completely new look range. This week, I went to the Volvo Press Launch and met with product specialist Niklas to find out more about the A50. This machine fills a gap between the A45 and A60, bringing 45 metric tons of payload with an all new design and enhanced operator comfort. A New Generation of Volvo ADTs Niklas explains: “The new range includes seven machines across three families, with the A50 bridging the gap in our large platform.” Next-Level Performance & Efficiency: Equipped with a completely new Volvo transmission where “every screw is new” the A50, A45, and A60 now share a fully integrated Volvo driveline for greater fuel efficiency and power. Operator Comfort & Safety: The spacious new cab offers improved visibility, ergonomic controls, and an integrated Co-Pilot system. Niklas highlights: “It’s more comfortable and easier to operate than ever before.” Designed for Harsh Conditions: Servicing is now faster and safer, with easy ground level access to key components. “That was one of the main goals, maintenance should be simple, safe, and efficient,” says Niklas. What does EV ready mean for buildings?

Trimble initiated a field study to document the carbon reduction benefits that can be realized using automated solutions, such as horizontal steering control. The results reflected an average time reduction of more than 29 percent, an average reduction of fuel consumption of more than 26 percent, and a potential carbon savings of up to 35 percent when using horizontal steering control. These are eye-opening results that further emphasize the value of technology on a project. By enhancing project efficiencies and effectiveness throughout the asset lifecycle, digital solutions — whether in the field on heavy equipment or in the office with more intelligent, more collaborative solutions — offer opportunities to proactively plan, develop, and deploy sustainability across the lifecycle of a project.
