WOW! I figured I had to repost this! Overall it looks pretty good! But can’t help but go back to the question floating around our industry: Is Generative AI the tool that will empower creatives, giving us more power and agency? Or are we walking into something with real risks to our career and livelihood? Or Both? Either way, AI’s presence in our creative processes is inevitable. I’d love to hear thoughts!

This is how footage ACTUALLY comes out of camera. Well kind of. This is a “LOG” format which makes the image flat. Us as filmmakers (or even colorists) go back in and add colors to best fit the image. You might ask why do you want to go back and add colors when it’s already there? Well 1. Because it’s cool And 2. It helps you achieve certain colors and change colors.

Should bloom filters make a comeback in 2024? Or did they never leave? I was recently put on to a plug-in for Davinci Resolve (you know the best editor out there) called Scatter. It emulates to a T all sorts of expensive filters we are used to having to lug around. The impulse in me wanted to click purchase now, but we are on our best behavior this year 😜 also I already had these 1/4 black mist filter laying around so why rush things? Lemme know in the comments if you still like how most filters look and if you plan on using them this year? #cameragear #davinci #videography #blackmist #blackmistfilter

Filming property externals in 🇬🇧 can be a real struggle! Here’s how I use ‘Sky replacement’ in DaVinci Resolve to turn those grey skies blue. 🌅 - Import your footage into DaVinci Resolve. - Head to the Color page and use the Qualifier tool to pick out the sky. - Use the Power Window to fine-tune your selection and isolate just the sky. - Apply the Magic Mask to track any movement. - Create a new node, then merge in your chosen sky image or video. - Adjust the blend mode and color grading to make everything look seamless. #DaVinciResolve #SkyReplacement #VideoEditing #Filmmaking #EditingTips #londonrealestate #londonproperty #dji
