Are architects signing the Principal Designer Building Regulation form? The one that says it’s built with compliance to the Aproved Documents? Was discussing this with my Building Inpsector on Friday. They say it’s so that the building was designed to comply. It does not mean the Principal Designer is taking responsibility for the work on site. What’s your take on this? #principaldesigner #architects

Site analysis is a crucial step in the architectural design process. By visiting the site, professionals can assess existing conditions, architectural elements, and spatial opportunities and constraints. This analysis helps us understand the context of the project and allows us to develop designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. According to a study conducted by the American Institute of Architects, 75% of architects believe that site analysis is essential for successful project outcomes. #ArchitecturalDesign #SiteAnalysis 🏗️ #whitepinelocal

Dana Cuff in 'architecture: the story of practice' does an ethnographic study of architectural practices in order to understand the nuts and bolts of practice. As part of a studio [thepracticecept.com] I conduct, we interview architects regarding their practice as opposed to their projects. The thinking behind this is that we know a lot about the buildings as well as the design process in abstract; but we rarely talk of how a day in the office looks like. How often do junior architects have to discuss with senior architects? Are there office meetings everyday? Are there fixed timings for site visits or design discussions? This and many more questions. In this sense we rarely talk about practice as a verb.

After we’ve walked through your space and feel confident that we understand your goals for your project, we start the design phase – where our architect will create detailed drawings that align with your vision and abide by local building codes. Because we are a design-build firm, the creation of your architectural drawings happens in-house – allowing us to maintain seamless communication and keep you updated throughout the process. #homeremodeling #designbuild #designbuildfirm #designbuildcontractor #architect #architecturaldrawings #designphase

The ideal architectural design does not exist. There is only design that can simplify development, and one that will make it harder.

10moArchitecture shop talk is fine… just draw the building so it can be constructed. Lines on a page needs to be matched to hammers & nails is the biggest frustration-The issue with Archi-talk is the same as any industry speak - unless its understandable it’s used either to float above others in conversation as an elitist “ don’t question me” defensive mechanism or as a deliberate lever when pushed on why something isn’t correct….
