India, and particularly our Metro and Tier 1 destinations have long been ruled by English. This TED talk makes a powerful case for reviving and reclaiming our own language. Sanskrit Vikas Parishad is our attempt to do so for a language that was widely taught in Purvanchal till a systematic attack was made on it post 1857 by Macaulay. Sanskrit will help rediscover our Sanskriti which will anchor 23 years of nation building for Viksit Bharat.

Mass Innovation believes that there is potential to innovate in many citizens, and they will find meaning in this act. But our pyramid shaped thought process has made us believe that innovation happens in big cities, with resulting product and services being consumed in small towns and districts. In Deoria, we are slowly changing this. The Zoho digital CoE in JECP recently sought to create new business models for local entrepreneurs and accountants. The Women CoE of JECP supported by BMGF has enabled a woman to create a VR solution on display in Deoria. In recent weeks we are looking at new ways of delivering healthcare with the CMO taking a lead. Local niggles in Jal Jeevan mission will require innovative service centers at the block level. We want to explore the use of Space Earth Observation in urban planning. The Bioregional CoE supported by Zerodha's Rainmatter foundation is exploring sustainable growth from a low carbon base, to name just a few innovative threads. We are looking for institutions and partners who believe that innovation must be brought out of urban enclaves. We are also looking for companies who seek to decentralize their innovation process and test products and services in Tier 2 and Tier 3 India where a majority lives. As a Member of Parliament I am envisaging a few large-scale innovative projects that can impact 3 million people in my constituency and set an example for other districts of Purvanchal. Namo Narayani (waterway from Deoria to Patna and Haldia), Naya Deoria (urbanisation plan for Deoria), Space Ground Station by ISRO (already in motion), An AI centre in Sanskrit/Hindi, Kushinagar Airport operationalization, Tourism Circuit, PPP Model hospital - are some of the projects that require designing, planning, raising resources, and execution. We are looking for a senior leader, with experience and passion, who can lead these projects. The role is mostly based in Deoria, but require liaising with government and private sector. The politics of 'Khatakhat' comes home to roost. Himanchal sees severe financial crisis as Congress had promised too much to win. Similarly 2024 elections saw a contest of ideas between the short term politics of 'Khatakhat' that could have bankrupted the country and the long term vision of Viksit Bharat. On teachers day, wanted to share a recent photo from Dr PL Dhar, my guru and teacher from IIT Delhi's 75th birthday celebrations in Delhi last week. Few people have had the same influence on my life as Professor Dhar. As a teacher of Mechanical Engineering he taught two brilliant courses in Heating Ventilation and Cooling. But crucially he co-taught a humanities elective - Science and Humanism. This course started me on a long journey of exploring how Indian philosophy and its resulting humanism is aligned with modern science, which continues till date. Finally he oversaw our (Rohit Bhagat and my) final dessertation on how ecologically sound design and positioning of housing can reduce, and sometimes eliminate air-conditioning load. Teachers and Gurus shape lives. Pranam to all such Gurus on this teachers day. 🙏🏻

The following extract from this article confirms my own world view. I often sense this sitting under the Banyan in my village. Thank you Samir K. Mody for this forward. "Upanishads describe the relationship between the Brahman and the Atman. Brahman is the universal self or the ultimate singular reality. The Atman is the individual’s inner self, the soul. A central tenet of the Upanishads is tat tvam asi, which means the Brahman and the Atman are identical. There is only one universal self, and we are all one with it. The Isha Upanishad states, “the Brahman forms everything that is living or non-living … the wise man knows that all beings are identical with his self, and his self is the self of all beings.” Schrödinger was fascinated by this thought. According to Subhash Kak’s book The Wishing Tree (2008), Schrödinger named his dog Atman, and his conference talks would, by one account, often end with the statement ‘Atman=Brahman’, that he would call – somewhat self-aggrandisingly – the second Schrödinger’s equation. https://lnkd.in/dkngd_4f

Decline and Rise of the Indic Civilization. The Guardian newspaper describing how Indian maths from Aryabhatt and Baudhyayan started the revolution in other sciences. It is our time and duty to script a Rise in the Amrit Kaal through institutions that research such links and take them forward.
