Remaining of previous Article ---- Contd. As I stated before the precious gems without any inclusion are generally outrightly rejected and declared as synthetic by existing 99% gem testing laboratories of the world except only GIA, Gublein, AGTL.etc. These laboratories are based in European countries. There testing charge is so heavy that even most of financially sound gem dealers even escape from sending customer's specimen to the above named laboratories. On the other hand the customer having the controversial gem escapes from paying fee of this high prized laboratories and ultimately the gem is returned to customer with stamp of synthetic no matter it may be natural. Now there is an interesting fact that none of the countries of Asia and Middle East and the gem dealers of these countries go to the basic fact that Graduate Gemmologist title is a professional course designed by GIA for jewellers so that the new generation can use the vocabulary of gemology to impress their customers and sell their gems. These gemmologist are not allowed to issue certificate of authenticity of gem in between general public. So these Laboratories write several controversial terms and conditions behind their issued certificate. If a jeweller sincerely go through the controversial comments mentioned on Gem Testing Certificated issued by today's gem tester he will at once understand that the truth that the gem tester is giving it's mere opinion and nothing else. The certificate issued by a general gem tester is not the final scientific finding.

Graduate Gemmologist of GIA are identifying the gem through out the world but are not allowed to identify any gem in their own country from where these gemologist are getting their degree meaning thereby that their own country permit only GIA and no other gemologist with same course from same institute is permitted to identify gem in their own country. This restriction is imposed because a - Government of this particular country running this professional course don't want competition in gem identification business. b- There can be a controversy in reports of different Graduate Gemologists c- Because professionals don't have money to purchase state-of-the-art instruments used in gem identification d- Because gemologist of the institute have support of various higher academicians expert in gemmological field provided by the government while other don't have this facility.

Understanding the Difference Between Certified and Uncertified Diamonds: Certified diamonds come with a grading report from an independent gemological laboratory, ensuring their quality and authenticity. Uncertified diamonds, while often less expensive, lack this verification. Is it possible to determine a diamond's geographic origin based on an examination of its gemological characteristics? According to GIA, with our advanced instrumentation, decades of in-depth research and access to the millions of diamonds we see every year, it is not possible. Dr. Jim Shigley, Distinguished Research Fellow at GIA, joined Joshua Freedman of Rapaport to discuss the scientific reality of attempting to pinpoint where a specific diamond was mined or recovered. Diamond values are based on GIA’s 4Cs grading system, and not on where they come from. The only possible distinction is the pattern of minute quantities of trace elements, which are difficult to analyze. "The pattern of trace-element chemistry reflects geological processes deep in the mantle where diamonds form," Dr. Shigley stated in a recent GEMTalks LinkedIn Live. "It has no connection to where the diamonds are found today on the earth's surface." Read the Rapaport recap and watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/eYsuhGYN

Type IIa diamonds are the epitome of diamond excellence due to their unique atomic structure. These rare gems are known for their exceptional purity and clarity, often free from nitrogen and other impurities, making them highly prized and often commanding premium prices. In fact, only about 1-2% of all mined diamonds meet the criteria to be classified as Type IIa. Like their earth-mined counterparts, lab-grown diamonds have the same pure carbon composition and physical characteristics. Remarkably, all lab-grown diamonds are Type IIa, ranking them among the purest diamond crystals in existence. Lab-grown diamonds are not just an innovation in gemology but also represent the highest standards of purity and quality, matching the excellence of the rarest mined diamonds. 💎✨ Achal Mehta | Arnav Mehta #Diamonds #LabGrownDiamonds #TypeIIa #Jewelry

Properly cut gemstones will show the color reflecting from the lower pavilion facets through the top crown and table facets. Gemological Institute of America state if a gem is not cut to the standards set out it is not yet considered a proper gem. Improperly cut stones carry unnecessary weight and you pay by the carat. Why buy something not so beautiful and over priced? Please look and understand, it's not too difficult and can save you from a costly mistake. Most gemstones are not cut to GIA standards thus are inferior and overpriced. Video is of a rare 5.3 ct red spinel from Vietnam's Luc Yen district. I have it in my collection of high end for sale gemstones.
