How to be an ally at the workplace? Five ways to do it. Number one, get to know people and pay close attention to their words and ideas. We should probably show genuine curiosity and compassion about lies and work of our team members in Cadiz. Build relationships so that we can better collaborate and advocate with each other. When they are speaking, listen very carefully and be fully present. And when people are sharing their ideas or experiences, ensure we show compassion and empathy. Two mirror the language that someone shows to describe their own identity. Listen and learn How someone pronounces their names, describes their identity, and uses their pronouns can mirror the language that people around us are using to describe themselves. It shows that we are paying attention and that we get #3. Acknowledge important cultural, international days, and life milestones. Keep an eye out for the key moments that might be important in someone else's life and recognize them. For example, we might want to commemorate the Transgender Day of Remembrance, National Coming Out Day, Juneteenth, Ramadan, maybe International Disability Day, Pride Month, Deaf Awareness Month, and so on. For when someone isn't participating at the workplace, take notice and support them. A person who feels marginalized, excluded, or tokenized may sideline themselves by not speaking up, by not paltry beauty, not showing up in the remote workplace as well. People may turn off their videos because they aren't engaged, but just don't have the home environment. Maybe want to show one video? You might feel excluded or maybe are burnt out from the iniquity, iniquities and exclusion. Check in with them and see if you could support them. 5 Acknowledged people's expertise and skills. Often, people from underrepresented identities find that the expertise and skills are regularly questioned and are being held to much higher standards. So make it a point to acknowledge the expertise and skills and solicit their opinions and ideas. I hope these five points make us better alive in the coming year.
