Today EPA Webinar- Quantified Climate Action Measures Directory. This is a great resource for CPRG grant awardees. The webinar will describe the research methods used to develop the directory, present summary findings about the examples within the directory, and demonstrate how to use the directory. The directory identifies approaches that existing plans have used to quantify GHG reduction measures and links to more detailed information in state and local planning documents. Planning award grantees under EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program can use the directory to identify tools related to the program’s GHG quantification requirements for both priority climate action plans and comprehensive climate action plans and identify other jurisdictions with related quantification expertise. If you have time to catch this today Eric W. Pollard. #cprg #GHGreduction #justice40

One topic that came up frequently at SXSW marine energy panels last week was marine carbon dioxide removal, or mCDR. I think this solution has tremendous potential to help restore the balance of carbon dioxide on our planet, and I'm so happy to see that the White House is also interested! They are hosting a series of listening sessions to learn more - details below for anyone who would like to attend: The White House National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal Fast-Track Action Committee (MCDR–FTAC) invites all interested parties to a series of listening sessions to inform the development of an implementation plan regarding marine carbon dioxide removal (MCDR) research. The listening sessions will give an introduction to the MCDR-FTAC and provide an opportunity for interested parties to provide input. The sessions will be organized around three themes: 1) Permitting, regulatory, and other standards and policies, 2) Developing a comprehensive federal MCDR research program, and 3) Mechanisms to enable public awareness and engagement. You may attend as many sessions as you wish. The sessions are as follows: Theme 1: Permitting, regulatory, and other standards and policies. The FTAC seeks feedback on how the U.S. government intends to apply relevant domestic and international frameworks to regulating MCDR research, including field tests in the ocean. March 19th, 12:30 – 2:30 EST Registration: https://lnkd.in/eWtX5VCJ Theme 2: Comprehensive Federal MCDR research program. The FTAC seeks feedback on a Federal research program that will accelerate the development of the knowledge needed to understand the effectiveness and safety of MCDR approaches. March 26th, 12:30 – 2:30 EST Registration: https://lnkd.in/ebE-7NB7 Theme 3: Mechanisms to enable public awareness and public-private cooperation. The FTAC seeks feedback on how to enable public engagement in MCDR research and how to promote cooperation between the Federal government and non-Federal parties on MCDR research, including field tests. At the start of every year, I always look forward to discovering new webinars. Among the many webinars I've signed up for, there's one that stands out, and I genuinely recommend attending it: the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s webinar on Developing a Label Program for Low Embodied Carbon Construction Materials on Feb. 1st. If you haven't registered already, this event dives into the EPA's draft plan for developing a label program for construction materials and products with low embodied greenhouse gas emissions. It's a great opportunity to learn about one of the many efforts in play from the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. You can easily reserve your spot here: https://lnkd.in/erB3FrfJ If you're interested in similar events, mark your calendar for Feb. 8th and join the EPA's webinar on Product Category Rules for EPDs: https://lnkd.in/eCGSMsAj #embodiedcarbon #epa #circulareconomy
