HEADS UP! Starting on August 1, 2024, SBA's process for applying for Federal contracting assistance program certifications is changing. This upgrade impacts the certification programs for-- • Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) • Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) • 8(a) Business Development • Veteran Small Business Certification (VOSB) • Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) • Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) Here's the deal... ▶️ Starting 8/1/2024 and thru early September 2024 (no firm end date given), SBA will pause acceptance of any new initial certification applications for all federal contracting assistance programs listed above. ▶️ SBA is encouraging new and prospective applicants for federal small business certification to wait until the upgraded system is ready to submit their applications. ▶️ If you're already certified and your renewal date falls during this upgrade period, you should receive guidance from your specific certification program on next steps. ▶️ If your application is submitted before 8/1/2024, SBA will continue to process the application during the upgrade period, in the order received. Don't sleep on this part... ‼️What can I do if my certification status (new or existing) impacts my ability propose on new opportunities during the upgrade period? (Particularly important since this is occurring during the end of fiscal year rush.) ‼️Contact SBA if you have a proposal that will be impacted by your certification status before 8/1/2024. ‼️Send an email to certifications@sba.gov with your entity name, UEI, the solicitation number, agency, and quote or offer due date. ‼️SBA has also provided a phone number for time-sensitive requests. It's 202-205-6459. For more info visit https://lnkd.in/gPGR8uGb SBA has promised more resources in coming days. Watch this space for more info.

Thank you, Shauna. I'll repost. I have been waiting 7 months for my EDWOSB to be processed. I'm glad to hear the system/process will be improved.

Shauna Weatherly Related, any idea how long it’s taking to process certifications right now? VetCert was days and now I’m hearing months!
