WOSBs and EDWOSBs...GSA and APEX Accelerators are teaming up for a webinar on August 22nd at 2pm ET on how WOSBs and EDWOSBs can market to the Federal Government. The SBA's WOSB Federal Contracting Program has a governmentwide statutory goal to award at least 5% of federal contracting dollars to WOSBs at both the prime and subcontract levels. Yet, with 646 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industry codes (out of 1,023) in which WOSBs (and EDWOSBs) are substantially underrepresented, the Federal Government has only met the prime contracting goal twice. Many agencies routinely buy under these NAICS but fail to set-aside any opportunities for WOSBs and EDWOSBs. Get your company seen by Federal buyers! Love to hear the SBA, GSA and APEX Accelerator's thoughts/actions on getting your Facilities Clearance as a SB. First you have to await a contract award, then wait on your Prime to flow down the DD-254 and Sub-contract then starts a 6-month minimal process to finally get that approved "FCL" to start working. Maybe someone can look at accelerating this process with alternate onramps to start the FCL process once the RFP is submitted and not wait 1-3 years for it to get awarded.
