The Making of A Short Video I used to be intimidated by the idea of editing a video; any software used for that task looked scary to me. But as I filmed more and more sand art videos, there came a time I couldn't run from it anymore. I was really limiting what I could do with the sand drawing videos because I didn't know how to do things like make edits or align them with music. I ended up learning some basic video editing tricks while putting together a sand drawing video with a group of filmmakers. Then that took me to editing vlogs, 2D animation videos, and stop motion animation. Now, I feel like the video format is one of the most versatile and fun mediums to work with. I recently completed a course in script writing for short forms. I've actually been scriptwriting for a long time, but I needed an outside professional's perspective on my work. Someone who would look at my texts, evaluate them and give me some pointers. So the last 2 months have been tough. With homework twice a week, it consumed my every free moment. Yet, it did something remarkable. It breathed life into a project that lay dormant for almost a year - my personal animation short. AND not only did I finally finish my script, but I also sparked ideas for three more. The catch? My focus has now shifted to the mammoth task of animation production. After hours, of course.
