Last month we were thrilled to host 14 eager students from Saracens High School, part of Saracens Multi-Academy Trust, St Bonaventure's School and Beal High School at our London office for an exciting work experience week! Our Shawbrook Futures program offered valuable exposure to the financial services sector, apprenticeships, employability skills, and engaging activity days. On day 1, we began with an introduction to Shawbrook and banking in general. This was followed by an excellent session with our apprentices who shared insights about their apprenticeship journeys with the Thrive program, providing valuable tips and advice to inspire all the students. 🌟 On day 2, students learned about various business areas within Shawbrook, including sessions to help understand customer franchises, finance and treasury, technology and engineering, risk, and marketing. This provided them with a diverse view of the financial services industry. 💻 Days 3 and 4 featured project-based work that sparked creativity, collaboration, and innovation through 'Dragon's Den' style projects. 🐉💡 We ended the week with hands-on practice sessions on personal finance management, employability skills practice, and a congratulatory session to celebrate the students' achievements throughout the week. 🎉 Thank you to everyone who helped make this a valuable work experience week! It was wonderful to see the next generation of bright young minds so engaged with the prospect of FS careers and apprenticeships. #WorkExperience #Apprenticeship #CareerDevelopment #FinancialServices #FutureTalent #LearningAndDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #StudentSuccess #SkillsForLife #EarlyCareers
I think this is a great idea. We should be doing more in schools about finance in general. Well done Shawbrook Bank
Our young people benefitted enormously from this experience. Thank you for investing in the next generation and giving them an insight into a sector that is largely unknown to them. Seeing these potential futures inspires them to keep living our values of discipline and hard work. Thank you Shawbrook
