Fehily Timoney and Company are delighted to hear that Kilkenny County Council has adopted its Local Authority Climate Action Plan for the years 2024 to 2029. The Plan defines many ambitious climate actions in the areas of governance and leadership, built environment and transport, natural environment and green infrastructure, and sustainability and resource management. The plan focuses on actions Kilkenny County Council can take to reduce its own organisational greenhouse gas emissions, achieve climate adaptation in the county, and spur community level greenhouse gas emission reductions. FT supported Kilkenny County Council through the provision of SEA and AA services. This allowed for the integration of environmental protection consideration into the Plan. It also facilitated stakeholder and public engagement on environmental matters relevant to plan. Tomorrow, 24 January 2024, Coega Environmental Manager, Mr. Sisa Xabanisa, will represent the organisation at the inaugural Nelson Mandela Bay Climate Smart 2055 public process launch. The process is one of the outcomes from the Presidential Climate Commission meeting that took place in June 2023, and is aimed at building a resilient Metro that can face the climate, social and economic reality of 2055. #coegadevcorp #coegasez #sustainabledevelopment #combatclimatechange

This was a great day! Sharing the process of Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources identifying what to include in its' carbon footprint with others working through this type of analysis was awesome.
