BETA KEHNA KY CHAHTE HO?? 👨🏫 Prof: Simple English me bolo, VOCABULARY nhi BUSINESS ACUMEN test ho rha hai aapka! 📑 This was a common feedback given by many of our NO BS professors (not widely liked profs for obvious reasons) during final presentations. 😶🌫️ Why?? People would just blabber words for 25-30 mins without adding any value. Similar experiences came in my case comp journey in-front of senior leadership of top brands like Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd, PwC India, ITC Limited, DS Group etc. 🎯 The focus was always on 1 SENTENCE that can summarize the complete idea and then have further discussion. ⁉️ But Why?? 1️⃣ No Beating Around The Bush (limited time) 2️⃣ Simplicity in communication means you also have clarity and conviction on your idea/answer 3️⃣ Execution of clear ideas is easier as end objective(expected) is at times known. Ever been part of, or seen such moments happening in your life? Are we over-emphasizing on language and less on people capabilities? Recently, I had the privilege of conducting mindfulness-based practices at IMT Ghaziabad for the orientation of their new MBA class. During these sessions, I shared a story that deeply resonated with me—the tale of an ancient Indian water bearer and his two pots. The water bearer used two pots to carry water: one flawless and the other cracked. The cracked pot always felt less and dejected at times. Despite its imperfection, the cracked pot, unknowingly, watered beautiful flowers along the path, creating an unexpected trail of beauty. The water bearer, filled with compassion, explained to the cracked pot how its unique flaw contributed to something truly wonderful. This story serves as a powerful reminder that our perceived imperfections can be the very source of our most meaningful contributions. Just like the cracked pot, we may feel inadequate at times, but it is often through our flaws and struggles that we find our purpose and create value in the world. In today's fast-paced and competitive business landscape, it's easy to fall into the trap of striving for perfection. However, true growth and innovation often stem from embracing our imperfections and using them as catalysts for positive change. When we acknowledge and accept our flaws, we open ourselves up to new perspectives, creativity, and resilience. Leadership Mistake: Micromanagement Mayhem Bottleneck Bill: I became the ultimate bottleneck, unknowingly stifling my team's growth and initiative.
