A dream sales job for car enthusiasts! Recently met the GM of a car detailing & beautification company. They have several locations across MA and expect to increase revenue 80% in 2024 vs 2023. This is a highly profitable biz! They have 3 salespeople, the most tenured sells $200k+/mo (the avg price of a package is $2k). He's in his early 20's, has been there for 1.5 yrs, and is projected to earn $100k+ this year. Their other 2 salespeople have been there for ~2 months and should earn $80-90k in year 1. They have individual sales goals but no individual commissions which means everyone gets a percent of ALL revenue the biz generates (like a profit share). They work together to accomplish their goals, get to explore & drool over high-end exotic cars, and can earn a lucrative living without the stress & turmoil often associated with SaaS sales. They have a marketing team driving inbound leads and 60% of their customers come back. Oh, and they have 800+ 5-star reviews on Google. The #1 requirement they look for in salespeople is a genuine love for cars. This is the type of job I wish I knew about when I was starting my sales career. I'd have definitely given this industry (and this company) a look!

Building Trust: The Must Factor in Car Sales When I entered the car sales industry 18 years ago, I quickly learned that buying a car is often the second-largest purchase most people make in their lives. Consequently, potential buyers invest considerable time researching to ensure they make the right choice. Unfortunately, a significant hurdle they face is the widespread mistrust of car salespeople, a sentiment that hasn't improved over the years. In fact, according to the Roy Morgan Image of Professions Survey 2021, car salesmen rank at the bottom among 30 professions in Australia. This reputation persists and it's crucial to address why. I've reflected on my career and realized that we as salespeople and managers, bear the responsibility to change this perception. The path to elevating our profession starts with each individual in this field. It's about embodying trust and integrity in every interaction with our customers. This means providing accurate information and keeping our promises — essentially practicing what we preach. Throughout my career, I've seen many colleagues show a lack of passion for their roles, often pointing fingers at others for their shortcomings. However, the key to personal and professional growth lies in self-assessment. By understanding our strengths and weaknesses, we can present a better version of ourselves to customers. Our goal should be to stand out as exceptional salespeople, continuously improving and expanding our client base, which in turn increases our earnings. Handling difficult situations and customers is also part of our job. Improving existing skills and acquiring new ones are crucial steps towards becoming favoured by customers. Here, the role of sales managers becomes indispensable. Effective managers engage with their team members individually, helping them identify and develop their strengths while mitigating weaknesses. They must focus on leading their teams ethically and strategically to enhance performance across all aspects of the sales process. The journey towards improving our profession's reputation is not solely on the shoulders of individual salespeople; it requires committed leadership from managers and proactive strategies from dealerships. If every sales manager in the automotive industry prioritises skill enhancement and ethical performance, the task of transforming our reputation becomes achievable. Let's commit to being better every day, not just for our personal benefit but for the entire industry. As we improve individually and collectively, we can shift from being the least regarded to the best in the eyes of the public. It’s a challenging journey, but with concerted effort and dedication, it's one we can certainly accomplish. Let's pave the way forward together. #carsales #automotivesales #sales #carsalespeople #carsalesmanager #sellingskills #salesleadership #salesstrategy

National Manager, Military, Law Enforcement and Commercial Sales. Strategic Brand and Business Development for Firearms and Defense Programs. DM me for dealer opportunities.
"They can sell ice to an eskimo." A silly sales cliche as old as time... Sure, if you want to pump and dump crap product and have no further client relationship after the sale, the used car salesmen archetype might be your go to choice. But if you are dealing with larger accounts, big box retailers, strategic dealers and potential government contracts, you need a different type of salesperson. Long sales cycles and the consultative sales approach requires more finesse, relationship building, and potential speed bumps along the way. Spoiler alert: You also have to manage the account after the sale. Business development is different for a reason. Anything else you would add?? #sales #marketing #Businessdevelopment #personalbranding

Sales Manager: "I need you guys to go out and sell some cars." Salesperson: "Hmm? That's what we're doing here?" 🙄 Snide remarks aside, the salesperson has a point. "We need to sell more cars!" isn't a strategy any more than gambling is planning for retirement. Unfortunately, this scenario plays out at dealerships every single day. We have all heard about "sales velocity" for years, but sales velocity happens when you have the right car for your market at a compelling price. If you focus on "appraisal velocity" rather than sales velocity, you will sell many more cars. Appraisal velocity is increasing your appraisal numbers massively. Why should you commit to this? Greater appraisal velocity will improve sales and your bottom line. Period. Dealers who appraise more cars have… #1 Increased sales. Data shows that sales closing ratios are up to 3 times higher with an appraisal. #2 Higher gross profits. When a trade-in is involved, the front-end gross profit increases by $300-$1,000. #3 Better follow-up conversion. If you don't do an appraisal, a sales associate's only option is the dreaded sales follow-up call on an unsold lead. Salespeople hate doing these because the "prospective customer" has no interest in speaking to them. And the success rate on these calls is abysmal. With an appraisal, your salespeople are in a much better position to convert with follow-up. #4 Reduced acquisition costs of used car inventory. On average, acquiring vehicles through appraisals costs $1,730 less than buying from auctions — savings that go straight to your bottom line. Dealers who appraise 80% of the cars owned by people who come in for service repair or walk into the showroom looking to buy will NEVER have to buy another vehicle at auction. Dealers, it's time to think differently. Forget sales velocity. Appraisal velocity is the key to success. If you want to sell more cars, appraise more cars. #AccuTrade
