What is NEXT TEN? 🤔 Well...To answer that we'd have to tell you why we started this community: 1. We're tired of going to networking events where people say "Let's connect!" But NEVER do! 2. We're tired of going to networking events and we just end up with a stack of business cards. 3. We're tired of watching boring panel discussions where each panelist has to answer the "What would you tell your younger self?" question. 4. We're tired of there being no follow through after an inspiring event without any application of how to practically put everything we learned into place. 5. We're tired of making surface level connections. We're doing this because: 1. WE want to actually make a connection. 2. WE want to create a community that is focused on exchanging value (NOT one way). 3. WE want to create something exciting and memorable. 4. WE want to establish a connection that goes beyond just an event. 5. WE want you to live out your best life! And we want to be the platform that made that happen. If any of this resonates with you, I encourage you to register for our upcoming event on April 25th where we have partnered with Workplace One at 111 Peter St in Toronto to bring you a one of a kind experience. Early Bird tickets are available NOW! Check out the link in the comments below 👇🏾 You definitely don't want to miss this as it will legit change your life!

I don't enjoy networking. It feels awkward, transactional and tricky standing around balancing a coffee and a pastry making polite chat. However, this morning I attended a networking event and have come away feeling inspired and have met some really interesting people. So why did I go if I don't enjoy networking? I wanted to connect with other businesses locally and the event was in my town and the organisers worked hard to make sure it was accessible and neuro-inclusive. This meant: ✅There was plenty of information, including breaks and timing, about the event before booking. ✅It was easy to get in touch with the organisers and clarify uncertainties. ✅There was no expectation to participate. ✅Directions for parking and where to go on arrival were clear. ✅On entering the event the organisers were on hand and made introductions to others so that everyone felt comfortable. ✅It would have been ok to leave at any point without feeling it was a problem. Anyone else enjoy networking? I know there are those of you out there that do. Alternatively, anyone else that feels the same as I do? Let me know in the comments below. Thank you to Vicki Ayton Laura Scotland Paul Newman Jo Hazell - Watkins for an excellent morning and I'm actually looking forward to the next Inclusion Network Shropshire event in May. #neuroinclusion #networkingevents #neurodiversityawareness

What is effective networking? For me, 'networking' has (historically) had overtones of sleazing around the room, engaging in superficial conversations or attempts to pitch. How wrong I have been! On Monday this event - 'Join the Dots' (a live networking meeting in Manchester, hosted by Andrew Thorp, Chris Marsh and Andy Hall) changed all that. Networking CAN mean having powerful conversations. But only when the context is right: 💥 when we respond to thoughtful questions (posed by the organisers) as a framework for connection 💥 when we show up as ourselves and not thinking about 'getting a sale' or 'making a contact' 💥 when there is space to reflect on our thoughts, opinions and experiences and how they overlap, or differ from, those of others For me, the power of networking - as I NOW see it - is to tune into the territory between me and the person or people I'm talking to: in other words, 'joining the dots'. 💥 It's to find out the areas where my skills, experience and passion meet those of others. 💥 It's to discover the points of overlap and connection between us - and points of difference too, because all of those things are where the energy lie. And energy not only serves us in business, it makes us feel more alive simply as human beings. I'm so excited about this new way of meeting other professionals and business owners who feel the same way - and can't wait for the next Join the Dots event. If you're based in the north west of the UK, I highly highly recommend it. For me, it has revolutionised how I think about 'doing connection' on a bigger scale.

Yesterday afternoon Andrew Thorp Andy Hall and I held our first ‘Join the Dots’ event at the Brabners office in Manchester. We began by highlighting our own experiences of how networking has benefited us, how we go about it and who’s helped us on our way. Two people I mentioned were Will Kintish and Naomi Timperley FRSA and how they helped me professionally. Andrew talked about the opportunities which came from the conversations with David Cotton and Andy suggested Kieron Hill and what came of their friendship. But the main purpose of the event was for everyone to share some thoughts and experiences around this topic. We drew some inspiration from a great TEDx talk by Rick Turoczy who describes networking building as collecting (and connecting) dots, something he’s learned to do in his own unique way (“An introvert’s guide to networking” on YouTube). The audience was invited to consider how building a network has made a difference to their working (and personal lives) and what special relationships have resulted. People shared some great networking tips, especially when it comes to getting a conversation started and making the most of your time at an event. And we all recognised that courage is needed to enter a room full of strangers in the first place! The vibe during the event felt relaxed and open and it was great that many stayed well beyond the official finish time. We'll be holding ‘Join the Dots’ part 2 in the coming months so look out for your invitation! Thanks again to Richard Cowan from Brabners for the use of the wonderful space. And, for those of you who attended, what one thing did YOU take away? Some of our own reflections are included in this short video here: #JTD

Two Events, One Big Idea. I’ve been networking in the field a lot lately, and Last night, I had the pleasure of attending two networking events, one professional and one personal. It was a great reminder of how essential it is to step out, connect with others, and build relationships that can shape your career and personal growth. These events weren’t just about exchanging business cards. They made me realize that our community craves more opportunities to connect and collaborate. 💡 It sparked an idea I’m excited to explore (whispers: BRB 😉). How are you building your network this fall? #Networking #CareerGrowth #PrivacyProfessionals #Community #ProfessionalDevelopment #TechEvents

"This was one of the best and most fun networking events I've ever been to!" - one of our guests at the recent "Who's who in your zoo" business connection events we hosted in Sydney and Melbourne last month. Every event is different but always centred around people and stories, about genuine business connection and a desire to help and support each other. Sometimes we'll have a roundtable discussion, or a panel, to mix it up we'll throw in some speed networking or an education session on the topics which are relevant for us all. We cover property, finance, legal, tech, recruitment, wellbeing, people, goals - and so much more. How we roll... 🤝 Connect: Mingle with members and guests for REAL conversations where you share what you do, why, with who and how. 🧠 Learn: Gain insights from BIO Australia Hosts Jonathan Sermon Miriam Wood and Nicholas Worthington, our members and speakers each month. Whether you're new to networking and business or been around the block before, connection is important, now more than ever - remember, it's who you know which often makes the magic! 🔗 Collaborate: Explore synergies with potential partners, clients, and collaborators. 🎉 Celebrate: Share cheers and challenges and build relationships over canapés and fine wine Come solo or bring a friend or colleague, bring your team and develop their skills! See you soon!
