In honor of Women's History Month, we want to highlight some incredible female leaders at Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee. Meet our VP of Finance and Accounting, Wendy White. We asked, "From your journey, what key advice do you have for young women aiming for leadership roles in nonprofits?" Wendy said, My advice comes from my service as both an enlisted soldier and an officer in the Army and it serves me well. The Army teaches 11 principles of Leadership and I believe they are universal to all forms of business and all levels of leadership: 1. Know Yourself and Seek Self Improvement 2. Be Technically Proficient 3. Seek Responsibility and Take Responsibility for Your Actions 4. Make Sound and Timely Decisions 5. Set the Example 6. Know Your Team and Look Out for Their Well Being 7. Keep Your Team Informed 8. Develop A Sense of Responsibility In Your Team 9. Ensure Each Task is Understood, Supervised and Accomplished 10.
