This post from John Bonney makes me think of Benjamin Franklin's famous quote "If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail." This applies to all areas of life, so here's what this crazy-busy, working mom of 4 kiddos has to say on the personal aspect side of things: Recently I have challenged myself to be more intentional planning in my personal life. Every Tuesday evening, my husband and I have been going somewhere kid-free to plan out our week...prioritizing tasks, chores, events, extracurriculars, short term goals, long term goals, etc. I'm the type of person that thrives with order. Managing a large household takes WORK and it's super easy to get behind or forget things. If I said that all my ducks are in a row, I would be lying! In fact, there is a meme out there somewhere that makes me laugh because it's so relatable: "I absolutely do not have all of my ducks in a row. I don't even know where some of them are and I'm pretty sure that one of them is a pigeon!" #PlanYourSuccess #CoreValues #YatesBuilds #LeadershipSkills
Vice President / Division Manager | Transforming South & Central Texas with Innovative Construction Solutions for Exciting Projects
Construction Safety Week Ahead At Yates Construction, Safety is our Number ONE core value. As we prepare for Safety Week it is essential that, like everything, we plan our success. I took some time today to reflect and plan impactful things that I can do next week, in my role as a Division Manager and Vice President, that will advance the safety culture of our division and company. I wrote down this little note card to take these ideas with me on the go, so I remember to place that extra emphasis ALL week to promote positive safety leadership. I am hopeful that those around me can keep me accountable for my goals. To my managers that are reading this: What are you going to do next week? Let’s make this the best safety week ever! My Self Challenge: 1. Talk about Safety often. Start conversations with safety theme. Reach out to trade partners to discuss safety. 2. Take Part in Safety Week Events. Actions speak louder than words. 3. Challenge managers. Seek buy in on engagement. #SafetyWeek #CoreValues #SafetyLeadership #YatesBuilds
