DHL Supply Chain Czech Transport is setting an example of sustainable fuel implementation, starting with LNG / CNG, Bio LNG, and now HVO 100 - we are testing HVO 100 in routes from Nepevázka, Czech Republic to Gyor, Hungary. Test results are very promising - it reduces carbon emissions by 88 % compared to conventional diesel solution. Unifeeder Group signed a long-term time-charter agreement for two new methanol-capable container feeder vessels with a planned delivery date in 2026. Unifeeder intends to deploy the new ships on its European network, significantly lowering network emissions. -Ultimately, though, the greenest fuel is the fuel that is not burned. Let's talk about carbon capture - In 2021, the UK emitted 425m tonnes of CO2. We are developing the technology to turn this waste product into efuels which can be used by shipping and air transport. Last week in Copenhagen, Maersk proudly presented the the world's very first container vessel powered by e-methanol. It was a historic event for Maersk and the shipping industry - but also for European Energy. In 2024 we will supply the vessel with e-methanol produced at our Kassø Power-to-X facility. Just back from #HyTruck Partner Meeting along with the #NewMobilityCongress in Łódź, Poland. My key-takeaways: 1. global H2 production and import to Europe will develop rapidly during the next few years. The molecules will be transported as ammonia and used in fertilizer production mainly. 2. H2 as transport fuel will be generated locally. Legislation, mainly for wind power plants will play an decisive role to lift the potential. 3. Our host, the PSPA - We drive e-mobility! did a great job with organizing the New Mobility Congress and HyTruck General Meeting. Thanks a lot! 4. We have a great HyTruck partnership, representing a perfect mixture of public authorities, research and business partners. Ørsted’s hydrogen factory, which is set to become one of the world’s largest producers of green fuels by 2030, is in crisis. But DFDS, which is involved in the project, is not worried. But now development company Ørsted’s factory, Green Fuels for Denmark, is facing significant delays, rising costs and a lack of access to green wind turbine power. ”It won’t necessarily become the most competitive project. But we’ll have to wait and see how things develop, and it also depends on how Denmark intends to support these projects,” DFDS CEO Torben Carlsen tells ShippingWatch. In addition to Ørsted, the partners are DFDS, A.P.
