Have really enjoyed our work with the Comprehensive Community Development team, diving deep into how NeighborWorks America organizations across the US are taking a holistic approach to their community challenges. They are thinking creatively and finding realistic solutions - this is how you make the work have sustainable impact. #CommunityDevelopment #CommunityRevitalization #SustainableCommunities #NeighborhoodRevitalization

Just came across this interesting article about the the concept of "predatory versus progressive community development." The article raises some eye-opening questions in the community development world, where we often pride ourselves on making a positive impact. Could our efforts to "help" ever be doing more harm than good? 💭 Predatory or Progressive? 💭 🤔 I'd love to hear thoughts from those in the community development space, what do you think? #CommunityDevelopment #SocialImpact #MunicipalEnquiry #FoodForThought

Peace has always been the backbone of progress. Without the threat of violence and conflict, communities can focus on collaboration, innovation, and pursuing knowledge for the common good. Through RYTHM Foundation's community development initiatives, we not only bring #EducationForAll and #GenderEquality within reach, we also create opportunities for conflict resolution, ultimately helping people thrive both as individuals and as a collective. On the #InternationalDayOfLivingTogetherInPeace, we celebrate every single effort around the world to cultivate peaceful interdependence and mutual responsibility – the foundations of an equitable society. #RiseWithRYTHM #CommunityDevelopment #SocialImpact

At the heart of every strong community are its people. Our Community Development Framework amplifies this strength by supporting community members to lead their projects based on their own priorities and cultural values. By focusing on assets (skills, culture, and aspirations), not deficits, we support sustainable changes that truly resonate with community needs. Economic development and community development are ways to build better places to live. It is equitable when community members can decide on and take action together. Economic development only focuses on the community’s economy. It is usually led by the government or business community. Community development’s goal is broader. The goal is to build a more healthy community with more opportunities for low-income, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. It’s a way to support and empower communities. Both economic and community development can include building affordable housing and creating good jobs. But community development puts more focus on getting the community involved.
