With abundant land, shallow groundwater, and ample solar insolation, Chandan subdivision is highly suitable for deploying decentralised solar energy solutions. Decentralised Renewable Energy (DRE) offers an immediate, feasible, and sustainable alternative path to bridge these infrastructure gaps. The Operational Land Imager (OLI) on #Landsat 8 captured this natural-color satellite image of the park. Since its construction began in 2015, Bhadla Solar Park has transformed this landscape. Spanning 5,700 hectares (about one-third the size of Washington, D.C.), it now boasts a capacity of 2,245 MW, making it one of the world’s largest solar parks. 🌍 Despite challenges like frequent dust storms coating solar panels, innovative solutions—like cleaning robots and satellite-assisted dust monitoring—are keeping the energy flowing.
