Roles stay open too long and lose businesses revenue. The status quo isn’t working. There has to be a better way. That's where I come in.
Does "back-end" maintenance efficiency impact "front-end" sales? Let's see... Almost half of buyers mentioned maintenance influencing whether or not they buy a specific piece of equipment or brand. Even more buyers mentioned "loyalty" and "relationship" influencing their purchasing decisions which guess what... are built over time through customer service and maintenance - all "post sale". The Lesson? Having open roles for technicians isn't just a strain on the efficiency of the business... It's not just missing service revenue... (although those two things are a big deal). It absolutely has an impact on your biggest top line revenue generator - equipment sales. You can't afford to let those stay open too long. Find a partner to help generate candidates in this tough market! 🙋♂️

How can one technician (not salesperson) sell $6+MM in HVAC 3 years in a row? There are many factors: talent; an exceptional support system; a proven sales model. All those are definite. What makes some of the very best great—no matter what the industry—is attention to detail. It’s the little things that often make the biggest difference. That can be said about David Wilson of Baker Brothers in Dallas, TX. David is a selling technician for Baker Brothers. Most of the calls he runs are for demand service. Throughout this interview, David shares in detail his entire process. In this particular clip, David explains how he converts a service call into a sales opportunity… The “secret sauce” lies in the details—specifically, the particular words David uses to educate homeowners and influence their mindset. It’s masterful—and it transitions across all trades. So, I urge everyone to watch it, regardless of whether or not you sell HVAC. https://lnkd.in/gXgdnMuN

Do Technicians do well in Sales? This was the topic of conversation for this clip from our interview with Adam Straub, National Sales Manager for A-Rent Test Equipment. Many technicians spend countless days servicing the needs of our industry. There oftentimes comes a crossroads where the monetary benefit of being on the road becomes less appealing. I can relate as that was one of my primary motivators for leaving the military. The missed birthdays, holidays, and other cherished moments that we can never get back... So what comes next? Oftentimes it is a management role, or perhaps as Adam chose, a role in sales. To answer the opening question, I believe that technicians can do great in sales for many reasons as Adam discusses in this clip. President for Manufacturing & Operations Recruiting @ American Recruiters || Former Plant + Operations Manager
“I receive calls daily from recruiters who say they have air compressors, salespeople, and technicians.” I have a lot of competition. But The answer to that question was easy. The regional manager answered his question in the 2nd part of his statement. “ The recruiters never send me industry people.” My answer- We target candidates who are employed in the industry We don’t sell jobs, positions, or pay. We offer the opportunity to a qualified candidate. Instead of me telling- allow me to show through a redacted profile of a tech. WHO wants to work for you. Actions are better than words. Wins and results matter. And that is what we bring.
