🌟 May marks Pre-Eclampsia Awareness Month! 🌟 It's crucial to understand that pre-eclampsia impacts around 5-8% of pregnancies globally, underscoring the urgency of early detection and effective management strategies. Pre-eclampsia isn't just high blood pressure during pregnancy; it can lead to severe complications such as organ damage, seizures (eclampsia), and even maternal or fetal death if left untreated. This condition typically manifests after 20 weeks of pregnancy and is characterized by high blood pressure along with signs of damage to other organ systems, such as the liver and kidneys, and can also involve abnormalities in blood clotting and the immune system. At Venture Lab Health, we're deeply invested in supporting maternal health through innovative solutions. That's why we've made femtech a key focus area, with the recent launch of Nanell—an app tailored for pregnant women, available in Germany. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dkWpXUUV (in German only). Empowering women with knowledge and tools for early intervention is key in combating pre-eclampsia and ensuring safer pregnancies. A new study shows a first-trimester algorithm that includes a blood test, ultrasound data, and maternal characteristics predicted two-thirds of preterm preeclampsia and three-quarters of early-onset preeclampsia among study participants. The authors wrote, "This screening will make it possible to prevent preeclampsia and its consequences for both mother and child. We must now work to make this test accessible to all pregnant women." This could be groundbreaking if we can truly prevent the majority of preeclampsia cases. ➡️ Read the article here: https://hubs.ly/Q02xtWzh0 #preeclampsia #preeclampsiaresearch #maternalhealth #womenshealth

Breast cancer risk is increased by factors including obesity, sedentary lifestyle, alcohol consumption, smoking, junk food, late first pregnancy, and not breastfeeding for at least one year. Women whose menstruation began early and they reached menopause late are also at risk. While family history is beyond our control, many other factors are within our reach. Dr. Vedant Kabra, Principal Director- Surgical Oncology, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, emphasizes to take charge where possible - be healthy physically as well as mentally. Together, #WeCan beat breast cancer. #WednesdaysForCancer #BreastCancer #FortisHealthcare #AtFortisWeCare

July is Fibroid Awareness Month. This month our focus is on raising awareness about this condition. According to information from the NHS, fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb (uterus). Women who do have symptoms may experience the following: 1️⃣ heavy periods or painful periods 2️⃣ tummy (abdominal) pain 3️⃣ lower back pain 4️⃣ a frequent need to urinate 5️⃣ constipation 6️⃣ pain or discomfort during sex 7️⃣ Pregnancy complications/infertility in rare cases Your voice matters! This Fibroid Awareness Month, we're inviting you to share your personal journey with fibroids. By telling your story, you can inspire and support others who may be going through similar experiences. We look forward to hearing from you. Let's make a difference together! Share this post with the women in your life and help spread the word.❤️ #fibroidawarenessmonth #fibroidawareness #womenshealth

Licensed Dental therapist | Healthy lifestyle advocate | I help young people maintain oral health and hygiene to their old age so they can enjoy their favorite adequately and boost their self-confidence with a smile.
One of the things I tried not to miss, even though I was strong was this webinar. And trust me it was loaded, all shades of awesomeness. I learned a lot even as one of the panelists and got amazing feedback. Just as it was stated, it was about women and oral health and the keynote speaker Dr. Pooja Siwach did justice to that. She shared different stages of a woman's life the changes that can occur in each stage and how to maintain good oral health regardless. Hormones are one of the major things women battle with and fluctuations in the level of these hormones can affect the mouth. For example, the menopausal stage can come with things like dry mouth and Osteoporosis which causes people to lose bone density in their jaws, which can lead to tooth loss. We also talked about the pregnancy phase, and how it affects oral health, what can be done, and all. These are just a tip of what was shared at the webinar. I will be sharing some from time to time. So, oral health is an integral part of your health. I felt so good after the webinar. That joy when you can give back to people. I'm sure you can relate. And I hope you got something from this. Good morning. Happy Wednesday.
