Today we remember the brave individuals who stood up against injustice 55 years ago at the Stonewall Inn in New York City. For six days, patrons and neighbors protested and sparked a movement that half a century later continues to inspire the fight for equality worldwide. Let’s stand together and promote love, equality, and inclusion for all! #ALawFirmShapingTheFuture #StonewallUprising #LGBTQRights #EqualityForAll #DEI #PrideMonth

“Upholding Rights, Ending Discrimination” On Zero Discrimination Day, the world unites to combat prejudice and exclusion. The theme for this year, “To protect everyone’s health, protect everyone’s rights,” resonates deeply. In a nation where the anti-LGBT bill has been passed, the call to action becomes urgent. Discrimination undermines our collective well-being and obstructs progress. Here’s how we can make a difference: Ending AIDS: Upholding human rights is integral to our fight against the pandemic. Discriminatory laws hinder access to prevention, testing, treatment, and care. Global Pushback: Attacks on women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and civic space threaten freedom and health. We must resist together. Our Responsibility: Upholding everyone’s rights is a shared duty. Advocacy, education, and unity are essential. Call to Action: Advocate: Raise your voice against discriminatory laws. Educate: Promote empathy and understanding. Stand Together: Protect everyone’s health by safeguarding their rights. Zero discrimination isn’t just a goal; it’s a path toward a healthier, more compassionate world. Let’s walk this path together. 🌍❤️

Healthcare & Policy Leader | Founding CEO & Entrepreneur | Psychiatric NP | Organizer | Optimist Driving Change
Looking forward to speaking at tonight's Chat 4 Change with The Women's Foundation of Colorado and Caring for Denver Foundation. I will speak on the vital right of all people to be able to choose their own healthcare without government bans or political overreach. Some key points: - Pride is born out of a long fight for justice, liberty, and equality. - Gender-affirming care is simply good healthcare. - It's now more important than ever to get out and vote. - We have the power to pass positive legislation and should look to model legislation in other states. - We all have the power to advocate and make long-term change. If you’d like to learn more, you can read my op-ed published last year for Fourth of July, “Trans Rights Are as American as Apple Pie.” The July 4th call for American independence should be a rallying cry to stand up for all people’s freedom and liberty, especially LGBTQ+ people who find their rights under escalating siege. https://lnkd.in/edhsrhw9

No One Left Behind: Building an Inclusive Future for the LGBTQI+ Community!!! Every year, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle for LGBTQI+ rights. This year's theme, "No One Left Behind," emphasises the critical need for a world that celebrates diversity and guarantees equality, freedom, and justice for all. While recent years have seen progress towards LGBTQI+ inclusion, significant challenges remain. The LGBTQI+ community continues to face marginalisation and social exclusion. We, at YNCSD, are dedicated to fostering an inclusive future where these challenges are overcome. Read full blogpost here>>> https://lnkd.in/dJgJNR5u #IDAHOBIT2024

#JusticeForNex Nex Benedict deserved better, we must not let the next individual(s) down when so much light has been shed on these issues. Dangerous rhetoric and anti-LGBTQIA laws give permission to bully, beat, and kill anyone who has been othered. Nex was a 16yo human being. The people in power are responsible for the death of this young person and all the potential they held. Legislators and Superintendents in Oklahoma, and other states, need to do better for every human being no matter how they identify. Ways you can help, VOTE! For individuals who embrace inclusivity and equality. Petition against those who misuse their power to discriminate. Support your local queer communities. Do what you can to fight injustice. Pictured is my Non-Binary painting from my Pride Plains series. I make a gift from each Pride Plain sale to The Trevor Project to help the young LGBTQ+ community. Stories like Nex’s are why the community needs extra support. #RestInPowerNex

At The Candy Factory (TCF), our doors are open to everyone. Hate finds no refuge within our walls. Our community is more than just words; we embody our values through action. Our members are actively working on the ground, striving for positive change for everyone.
