Heat-related illness vs. injury: What’s the difference? The terms “heat-related illness” and “heat-related injury” can be confusing. OSHA uses these definitions: Heat-related illness – an adverse clinical health outcome that occurs as a result of exposure to hazardous heat. Heat-related injury – an injury linked to heat exposure that isn’t considered one of the typical symptoms of a heat-related illness. With more high temperatures and humidity this week it's important to keep vigilant regarding the dangers. If you don't have a plan for your job site, now is the time to put one in place. Compliance Consultants, Inc. can help your organization assess and develop a plan for making sure your employees are taking all the necessary precautions to manage work through these potentially dangerous situations. 🚨 OSHA's new proposed heat rule aims to protect 36 million workers from heat-related risks with mandatory prevention plans for employers when the heat index hits 80° F. "Workers all over the country are passing out, suffering heatstroke and dying from heat exposure from just doing their jobs, and something must be done to protect them," OSHA administrator Doug Parker said in a July 2 press release. Key measures to this rule include monitoring heat stress, ensuring hydration, providing rest areas, and more stringent requirements at higher temperatures. This proposed rule is a significant step toward reducing heat-related injuries and fatalities in the workplace.🌡️👷♂️ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e7VDGvUZ #WorkplaceSafety #HeatStress #HeatPrevention #OSHA #EmployeeHealth #SafetyFirst #OneSolution #ForwardSolutions Avision | C3 Team | Curate | Forward Solutions | OneSolution Team | ElectroRep, Inc. | R/B Sales Corporation | RelyPak | StruXur Team | Xpand Demand
