Most Americans don’t understand yet the potential impact of what’s to come “if” they (and Independant repair shops and manufacturers) can’t access their data. Why? Because this is only impacting newer vehicles that aren’t of the age of seeing parts fail just yet. The technology being employed in todays vehicles can prohibit the consumer of choosing “where and how” to repair their vehicle (this is not an issue for example for a 2014 F150 or a 2009 Honda Accord) If this isn’t addressed appropriately now, future owners of these current vehicles will be forced to go to OE repair facilities and only have ability to purchase OE parts. Today ~70% of Americans choose their own repair shop with aftermarket solutions….think about that future impact. VACC, alongside industry colleagues from Motor Trades Association of Australia and Motor Traders' Association of NSW, visited Canberra this week to meet with politicians to share the very real issues facing the automotive retail sector. In the lead-up to a yet-to-be-announced Federal Election – communicating the automotive industry’s priorities early is essential. Key issues included: - Federally mandating the new MVIRI Code of Conduct. - The need for serious investment in EV training to ensure enough skilled technicians are available to meet future demand. - Federal support for automotive businesses to prepare their sites for EV servicing and sales. - The importance of skilled migration to the automotive service, retail and repair industry, and the need to have automotive occupations included on the Core Skills Priority List (CSOL). VACC thanks MTAA CEO Matthew Hobbs and VACC’s BRD Executive Committee member Carly Ruggeri for taking the time out of her business to provide the voice of members at a federal level.

Attention Royal Enfield I recently purchased an Interceptor 650 in November 2023 and was provided with a quick start guide stating that the second free service is due at 5000 km/12 months or 10000 km/6 months. This was also confirmed by your service center at Jogbala Motors, Ajmer. Now, I am being informed that my second service has lapsed, with the new schedule being 5000 km/6 months, which was never communicated to me at any point! How can you expect customers to follow a schedule that contradicts your own documents? This inconsistency is frustrating and unacceptable. I planned my service in good faith based on the information provided at delivery, and now I’m being denied my second service because of Royal Enfield’s failure to notify customers of schedule changes. I’ve raised a support ticket, but my request was denied. I demand that Royal Enfield take immediate action to: 1. Arrange my second free service as promised. 2. Clarify the service schedule going forward for all customers. This misinformation needs to be addressed urgently! Customers deserve better transparency.
