I help social impact leaders grow community and deepen donor relationships during moments of growth and change. My favorite partnership ingredients: Joy, Learning, and Trust.
Are you expecting everyone on your volunteer board to fundraise for your organization? If so, you might just be setting yourself up for disappointment. 😞 Not everyone is an enthusiastic fundraiser😃 ... and since there is nothing worse than an UNenthusiastic fundraiser 😟 ... encourage your board members to be ambassadors, storytellers, and connection-makers. BOARD MEMBERS: Do you have a story you like to tell that gets people excited about the mission of your organization?

The weather may have dampened some folks at National Harbor last week, but not us here at Adstra Nonprofit. The Bridge to Integrated Marketing & Fundraising Conference was a big hit, both in reconnecting with colleagues and learning more about what nonprofits are doing in their fundraising efforts. While we can’t replace the chance to connect at our packed cocktail party or all that was said, we wanted to share a few key takeaways over the coming days. To start off: Takeaways from Josh Linker – NY Times Best Selling author and Bridge Opening Keynote... 💡 You cannot keep doing what you have always done. You need to be ready, not unprepared for change 💡 Use active listening to drive results 💡 Start before you are ready- Don’t be afraid to go for it, even if you are not fully prepared- it will help you to awaken the artist within 💡 Look to that oddball idea- sometimes it’s the idea that sounds the most outlandish that ends up leading to greatness

I love the energy that events bring—the connections and organized chaos really fills my cup, keeping me energized long after the event wraps up. But after all the excitement, I often find myself teetering on the edge of burnout. And like many in this field, I’ve been guilty of jumping straight into the next project without properly closing out the last one. It took me some time to realize how much I was missing by not fully wrapping up an event. The connections we work so hard to build don’t end when the event does; in fact, for many attendees, the event is just the beginning of their engagement with your organization. But without a proper follow-up plan, those connections can fizzle out before they even start. Here’s my biggest tip: post event, take the time to meaningfully engage with everyone involved in your event—without making another ask. Use this time to share your stories, celebrate your victories, and let your supporters know how much their involvement means. It's about keeping the momentum going, and yes, strutting your nonprofit peacock feathers proudly! #EventPlanning #CommunityEngagement #NonprofitLeadership #FundraisingTips #PostEventFollowUp

Habit 1: Be consistent Your audience craves consistency. A regular posting schedule helps build trust and keeps your nonprofit top-of-mind. So, create a posting schedule and stick to it! For example, try committing to 1-2 daily stories and 3 weekly posts. You can always adjust your schedule to best suit your organization. #nonprofitmarketing #nonprofitcommunications #nonprofitsocialmedia
