Everyone, everywhere in my circles, is talking how they could not lay their hands upon the elusive Coldplay tickets. While this has generated massive conversation about the brands- Coldplay and Bookmyshow, was this actually required? Could it have been handled better? I think this first-come-first-serve model is designed for agony, pseudo-hype and black marketing. Esp in the absence of identity controlled booking like IRCTC. Could a lottery based system have been better for such humongous demand? For one, it would have calmed nerves, and reduced anxiety. Second, a 2-3 days gap between depositing money and getting the result would have ensured the frenzy would have been contained, leading to lesser black marketing of tickets in my opinion. Not to mention, BMS would have earned a lot of interest on the deposited money before initiating refunds (if allowed under regulations). Were you able to land a ticket?
