I help negotiators attain superior outcomes with IT vendors by sharing insanely useful tactics refined over almost 3 decades
Feeling the pressure to overhaul your Procurement team?... Transforming staff alone won't solve inefficiencies... After almost 30 years in the industry, I've seen organizations shift from viewing Procurement as a tactical function to a strategic powerhouse... However, simply replacing staff without addressing underlying processes and tools often leads to continued challenges... Key points to consider: 1. Integration Matters: New hires need effective tools and processes to thrive. 2. Cultural Clarity: Foster an environment that aligns with your Procurement strategy. 3. Establish a Baseline: Measure current efficiencies to better assess improvements. Join the conversation! Have you experienced a Procurement Transformation? What insights can you share? For a deeper dive into this topic, read the full article in the 'Negotiator's Notes' section of 'The Deal Desk' community. Exciting Insights on Industry 4.0 and its Implications for Supply Chain Management 🌐 A comprehensive review conducted by Lara Bartocci Liboni and colleagues on the potential impacts of Industry 4.0 on human resource management (HRM) and its implications for supply chain management (SCM). This systematic literature review sheds light on the evolving landscape of Industry 4.0 and its effects on employment, job profiles, and workforce qualifications. 📈 The study presents an original research agenda and implications for SCM practitioners, emphasizing the need for adjusted policies and training programs to align with the changing landscape of Industry 4.0. SCM practitioners need to develop and adapt policies that align with these changes. This may involve creating new guidelines for recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and rewards of employees in light of external trends, such as technological changes and competitive forces. An organization that wishes for better talent should probably invest in better talent management. Would love to hear your thoughts. #SCM #transformation #HRM #FutureOfWork #Industry4.0

Procurement and Supply Chain Management Made Simple: Increasing sales, profitability and customer service through the eradication of commercial costs, waste and risks.
The Definition of Supplier Management Supplier management encompasses a wide range of activities essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of an organisation's supply chain. By evaluating and selecting suppliers, developing solid relationships, negotiating contracts, managing performance, and resolving issues, organisations can build a network of reliable and trustworthy suppliers that contribute to their success. Effective supplier management requires careful planning, attention to detail, and a commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement. Supplier management is often an overlooked aspect of running a successful organisation. Maintaining a high-quality level in the products and services an organisation offers its customers is crucial. By developing strong relationships with suppliers and managing their performance effectively, an organisation can ensure that it gets the best possible products and services at the least cost. One key benefit of effective supplier management is that it can help ensure that an organisation can secure a reliable and consistent supply of the products and services needed to keep its organisation running smoothly. By establishing clear communication channels and regular performance reviews with its suppliers, an organisation can ensure that it can meet its needs and deliver on its promises. Objective supplier management can help an organisation maintain a consistent supply of products and services, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and lead to increasingly innovative supply solutions being developed in partnership with the supply base. An organisation can reduce operating costs and increase profit margins by working closely with suppliers to negotiate better service levels, pricing, and terms. ©️ Procurement and Supply Chain Management Made Simple. Is Procurement rewarded with fair bonuses that reflect their role in an organisation? It has been a topic of great debate for some time but this was put into context again yesterday when speaking to a Procurement Director who had personally delivered over £10 million in savings in the last year and helped contribute significant revenue growth and yet only received a nominal bonus based on a percentage of his basic salary. Should companies look at rewarding Procurement based on company profit/ EBIDTA or on savings they have made? Or should the focus be on supplier or stakeholder feedback or perhaps just higher bonuses? A revamp of how you incentivise Procurement teams could be critical for both retaining and attracting talent as well as growing the Procurement profession in the future. What are your thoughts?

Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Deployed | Empowering any organization to be an instant expert in procuring complex services.
As the founder of Deployed, with years of experience in Demand Management (from my strategy consulting days), as well as advising companies on sourcing talent and services, I've encountered numerous misconceptions about HR and procurement processes. In my new myth-busting series, I tackle these myths and provide clarity on key topics like intake, triage, and more, revealing the true workings of these processes. 💡 Today’s myth: The Intake Process is a New Concept Contrary to the belief that the intake process is a recent innovation, it has always been an essential part of procurement and HR functions. Intake comprises the ‘pre-signature’ activities that start in the business with a need for a service or talent - well before procurement or HR hears about it. Traditionally, each fulfilment channel has its own intake process, differing in complexity, number of steps, and forms required. The new concept is that companies now aim to reduce process and form complexity and have one intake process upfront for all fulfilment channels - something we at Deployed help our clients with. #procurement #Intake #triage #deployed #servicesprocurement
