Do you have problems with "stray light" in your spectroscopy? Shimadzu Diffraction Gratings can provide a solution to such problems. In general, stray light is unwanted light for spectroscopy and it can hinders the performance of optical systems. Stray light can also be generated by Diffraction Gratings due to the periodic error of the grating grooves. Shimadzu is the first company to establish the technology for manufacturing Blazed Holographic Diffraction Gratings, which ensure “Low Stray Light” compared to conventional ruled gratings without any reduction in diffraction efficiency. With this sophisticated technology, Shimadzu has also developed outstanding Low Stray Light Diffraction Gratings, "Lo-Ray-Ligh®" Series. Shimadzu “Low Stray Light” Diffraction Gratings contribute to high-precision spectroscopy. How Advanced Sensors uses Microscopy for Measuring Oil and Solids Part 3: Excluding Out-of-Focus Objects To ensure precise measurements and reliable analysis, our system excludes oil and solid particles that are not in focus. Out-of-focus particles can appear distorted in size, leading to inaccurate measurements. Our image processing algorithms evaluate the sharpness factor of each particle and include only those above a specific threshold. This guarantees that the measured particles provide accurate size values and enable precise parts-per-million (ppm) calculations. It’s important to note that the system operates within a narrow depth of field of just 7 micrometers—the range in which objects remain sharply in focus. By limiting measurements to this range, we ensure the analysis targets particles most relevant to the application. This focus enables accurate detection, measurement, and monitoring of produced water quality, providing actionable insights for effective control. Stay tuned for the next installments of our 10-part Microscopy series! #microscopy #producedwater #innovation #precision

X-ray diffraction is a powerful technique used to analyze the structure of crystalline materials. The instrumentation typically includes an X-ray source, a sample holder, a detector, and a data analysis system. X-ray Source: Typically, a high-energy X-ray source such as a rotating anode or a synchrotron is used to generate X-rays. These X-rays are directed towards the sample. Sample Holder: The crystalline sample is mounted on a goniometer, which allows precise positioning of the sample. This is crucial for obtaining accurate diffraction patterns. Detector: The detector captures the diffraction pattern produced when the X-rays interact with the crystal lattice of the sample. The most common detectors used are photographic films, image plates, or electronic detectors like CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) cameras. Data Analysis System: Once the diffraction pattern is captured, it is analyzed to determine the angles and intensities of the diffracted X-rays. This data can then be processed using software to determine the crystal structure, lattice parameters, and other properties of the material. Overall, X-ray diffraction instrumentation enables scientists to understand the atomic and molecular arrangement within crystalline materials, providing valuable insights into their properties and behavior. #pharmacist #pharmacy #linkdin #instrumentalanalysis

Are cuvettes the best option for your spectrophotometry experiments? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Few of us do. Afterall, what are the choices? A multi-plate reader. A thin film holder. How about an integrating cavity? This is different than an integrating sphere, which still uses a cuvette and collects diffuse reflectance (not absorbance). An integrating cavity allows you to do experiments you've previously dismissed as impossible: UV/Vis on light-scattering samples. —whole cells, aggregating proteins, nanoparticles ... ✨ Why integrating cavity technology is a game-changer: - No light lost due to scatter - 100% of the sample contributes to the measurement - Effective pathlengths can be tens of centimeters, allowing use of extremely dilute sample preparations 📩 If you care to take your experiments into the CLARiTY era, where sample turbidity does not matter, please be in touch. #UVVisSpectroscopy #IntegratingCavity #CLARiTYUVVis #scatterdoesnotmatter

🏷️ Thickness Control of Carbon Film in Vacuum Carbon Coaters 💎 Control of carbon film thickness deposited on the samples to be analyzed by electron microscopy (SEM, TEM, FE-SEM, and etc.) or Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) should be accurate to obtain the best result. The QCM monitoring of the thickness of carbon thin film deposition by resistive evaporation of carbon sources (Rod or Fiber) happens at high temperatures that may cause sensor heating and failure. 💡If you are interested in, you can read more: https://lnkd.in/dSQWPYWf 👉 Vac Coat Vacuum Coating Systems: https://lnkd.in/eAhMxiEw #thickness #carbon_film #carbon_coater #electron_microscope #edx
