#HowWeMadeIt This image shows the biggest fully custom-made SHION active acoustic membrane ever made. The project was part of our PhD research at the Innsbruck University in 2019. This large mock-up was installed and showcased during the AIA Show in New York City, where we met our first angel investor Alex Behar and later co-founded SHION with him in 2020. #ActiveAcoustic #NoiseCanceling

What’s the next step in CT tech evolution? Deep silicon detectors. Imagine being able to see high resolution imagery from scans that can differentiate tissues and other vitals, in less time that standard CT machinery. That’s what’s being made possible by GE’s deep silicon researchers. Watch @Mikey Kay as he delves deeper into what deep silicon is, and how it’s going to revolutionize healthcare tech in “The Deep Silicon Project.”

EYIC minisymposium You still have a few days to send an abstract to the EYIC minisymposium at the ECCOMAS congress in Lisbon! The EYIC mini works quite differently from a regular mini, so you can send an abstract to it IN ADDITION TO sending an abstract to a regular mini! In particular, you can a) present in pairs (duet or duel, up to you!); b) present things that did not work out as expected; c) present unsolved problems. Sounds great, isn’t it? For more information, see the congress website at https://lnkd.in/dSaBezBx #mathematics #engineering #computationalmechanics #lisbon

It was fun playing with a sci-fi style in this image which represents #CLIMAT : a new method developed by Artem Musiienko at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin and based on the #HallEffect. With this technique it's possible to resolve simultaneously 14 different parameters of #electrons and #holes in #semiconductors! More details on the press release available at: https://lnkd.in/ejPbS6YB #SciArt #SciComm

Utilizing one of the most intelligent plants out there, Alex Naglich explores the behavior and evolutionary incentives of the Mimosa pudica. Known as the shy plant or touch-me-not, M. pudica rapidly moves when touched, damaged, or exposed to wind - and responds differently to each! This work helps to understand the complex sensing and signaling mechanisms in M. pudica, the evolutionary benefits of developing the ability to distinguish between different types of stimuli, and bolster the development of mimosa-based biohybrid robotic designs.
