Dr. Gull Herzberg, (BSc(Hons), MBBS (USyd), FRACGP) is a GP based in New South Wales and President of the Australian & New Zealand College of Cannabinoid Practitioners (ANZCCP). He specialises in integrative medical solutions, treating chronic pain, fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and mood disturbances using both conventional and alternative approaches. Dr. Gull has been prescribing medicinal cannabis since 2017, including for patients in residential aged care. He saw firsthand the challenges of ensuring that patients receive the right treatment promptly. The lack of comprehensive, real-time information about medicinal cannabis products made it difficult for doctors to make informed decisions, often leading to delays and inefficiencies in patient care. The European Medicines Agency has launched a pilot programme for #expertpanels to support the development and assessment of #orphan #medicaldevices in the #EuropeanUnion. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dcsvryJu The pilot programme offers free advice from the medical device expert panels to selected manufacturers and #notifiedbodies on the orphan device status and the data needed for their #clinicalevaluation. While the pilot programme is currently scheduled to run until the end of 2025, the aim is to establish a long-term process for orphan device support. #medtech #rarediseases
