What a fantastic video showing the importance of decarbonisation for future jobs and the next generation. The Humber is the largest emitting cluster in the UK when it comes to CO2 which is often seen as a negative. However, the region also has the opportunity to become a world leading cluster and create economic prosperity for the residents and businesses. Therefore engaging early with the younger generation is key and as a parent of an 11 year old, it is great to be able to show something to him for him to understand about opportunities. There is often the mislabelling of these jobs to being 'Green Jobs' which is a fundamental error. These are historic jobs such as welders/pipefitters that are to be utilised in decarbonising our industries and becoming a net zero economy. New Class for the Spring: GES362 - Systems Thinking And Sustainability Solving complex issues to create a sustainable world requires understanding the way social systems, economic systems, and ecological systems interact. The course will provide students with an introduction to the tools to take on today's problems to make a better future. The course is a Group D Skills course in the GES minor.
