🚀 An Incredible Journey of Growth and Learning Looking back at the past 1.5 years at Zoho, I feel immense gratitude and pride in how far I’ve come. Today, I’d like to share my journey from my college days to where I am now, along with some advice for aspiring juniors looking to build a career in tech. 🌟 From Bio-Maths to IT Coming from a Bio-Maths background, my first year of college was a steep learning curve. 1. I didn’t even know how to set environment variables. 2. I couldn’t grasp the importance of problem-solving skills and often wondered, "Will we actually use pattern programming in the workplace?" 3. Focussed only on subjects and teachers notebooks. Because of this, I initially lacked interest in improving my coding abilities. Things took a turn in my third year when: 1. Placement Skillrack training helped sharpen my coding skills. 2. A good online friend introduced me to collaboratively learn OOP concepts and Java frameworks. Also I have n’t pursue internships during college days which is a drawback to kickstart my career after college days. 💻 Starting My Career at Zoho In my final year, I landed an incredible opportunity as a Project Trainee at Zoho, which later turned into a full-time role. But it wasn’t easy: I hesitated to admit mistakes or ask questions, fearing judgment or the risk of losing my offer. Communicating with teams felt daunting, especially when I didn’t understand some concepts. However, Zoho became a turning point: ✨ It boosted my confidence. ✨ I learned how to handle deadlines, resolve merge conflicts, and navigate team dynamics. ✨ Thanks to my mentor who played a huge role in shaping my technical and interpersonal skills. 💡 Advice for Juniors To all students aspiring to build a tech career, here are a few things I’ve learned: 🤔 Understand why problem-solving matters: It’s not about solving puzzles; it’s about building and understanding workflows and tackling real-world challenges. 🛠️ Learn frameworks and build projects: Practical projects give you confidence and prepare you for industry-level work. 🤝 Collaborate with seniors: Ask experienced peers for small projects and complete them independently to get a feel of real-world tasks. 🎓 Pursue internships during 2nd or 3rd year: Early industry exposure helps you develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed after college. 🌐 Contribute to open-source projects: This teaches you how complex systems are built and helps you understand the impact of your code. 💬 A Message to Professionals If you’re a working professional, mentor students around you. Your guidance could make a world of difference in their careers. 🌟 Looking Ahead As I continue my journey, I’m excited to contribute more to Zoho and grow alongside incredible colleagues and mentors. ✓ Level Up! Just completed the intensive Salesforce Developer Virtual Internship, in collaboration with SmartInternz and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) The 8-week program was a fantastic journey into the world of Salesforce development. I dove deep into core Trailhead modules like: 1. Apex: I dove into the world of Salesforce development with Apex - the powerful language that allows me to customize and extend Salesforce functionality. From triggers to batch processing, I've got it covered! 💡 2. Organizational Setup: Navigated the intricate setup like a pro! Configured profiles, roles, and permissions to ensure smooth collaboration across teams. 3. Relationship & Process Automation: Built relationships between objects using master-detail and lookup relationships. Plus, I automated processes with workflows and approval processes. 4. Types of Flows & Security:Explored different types of flows - screen flows, autolaunched flows, and more. Also, tightened security with field-level security and sharing rules. ⏳️ 5. Apex Testing & Debugging:No more mystery bugs! I honed my skills in writing test classes, executing unit tests, and debugging Apex code. 🪄 6. VS Code Setup & CLI: Set up my development environment Visual Studio Code (VS Code) and mastered the Salesforce Command Line Interface (CLI). Seamless development, here I come! 🖥 7. Lightning Web Components (LWC) & API:Lightning struck! I built lightning-fast Uls using LWC and integrated with external systems via APIs. ⚡️ 8. Super Badges: Proudly earned the Apex Specialist, Process Automation Specialist, and Developer Super Set badges. 🏆 But it wasn't just theory- the program truly shined with its hands-on approach.From mastering Apex testing and debugging to building and deploying Lightning Web Components, I gained practical experience that will invaluable in real-world scenarios. This project challenged me to integrate various flows and implement robust security measures, pushing my skills to the limit. The internship not only boosted my technical expertise but also honed my communication skills through collaborative project discussions with my peers. Overall, this experience solidified my passion for Salesforce development. Here are the details: You get Salesforce-related tasks/projects completed by the best, entry-level talent, and the job seeker gets paid through our partnership with Salesforce. We realize that hosting an intern is definitely work for you, so you give the gift of hosting, we make sure they get paid, and this has a tremendous impact on their aspirations to become full-time Salesforce professionals. There is a limit of 20 hours paid for by this program per intern. You can use them for more or less but anything beyond 20 hours is between you and the intern to agree on.
