We're excited to announce that the Shockwave Foundation has joined ClimateWorks Foundation and other philanthropic leaders who launched a collective call to action on climate adaptation and resilience. https://lnkd.in/emkF8mhm We need significant momentum to scale adaptation action as we accelerate climate change mitigation work in parallel. “Even if the rise in temperature eventually slows as a result of more ambitious collective climate change mitigation efforts, climate risks will accelerate with every fraction of a degree because of the compounding and cascading nature of climate-related impacts.” (UN Environment Program Adaptation Gap Report 2023) This call to action is an important step forward. It builds upon the work of several philanthropic organizations and builds a clear vision for philanthropy’s role in this space. We believe that collective voices, and more importantly, collective action, like this, are essential to make significant progress.
