It was great to get up on a stage and talk about what im passioned about — how the value of our work is communicated to leadership. Here are my personal highlights and key takeaways from all of the other speakers: -- Jutta Lehtinen - No longer a teenager, SEO is becoming more mature and we need to mature too as a field. SEO should be ethical, inclusive and supportive as a community. Break down silos and embrace, find your professional identity and dont be afraid to change. -- Gaetano Romeo - Nothing will be the same in SEO and we should not be afraid of change. AI allows us to be more effective while keeping quality high. -- Tuomas Laitinen - Google Generative Search Experience will change SEO and nobody knows how. Understand your business and follow the money — what makes Google money will be where you can find value as an SEO. Fundamentals still work and are even more important. EEAT should still be in your focus. -- Katarina Dahlin 🌻 - Achieve amazing results with a great process. Evaluate the potential of your SEO work based on KW data. Leverage smart methods and tools like ChatGPT to speed up and automate previosly manual tasks. Also dont forget to stop and smell the flovers. -- Itamar Blauer - Site reputation abuse is running rampant, especially with communities and forums like reddit. Google seems to lose grasp more on whats good content, while still communicating that they do. -- Overall the event had a great mix of operational, tactical and strategical aspects of SEO. "Insights from the SEO Summit in Vietnam and the Power of Digital Transformation" In the first week of April, I attended the SEO Summit in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, an enriching gathering of over 400+ SEO practitioners, founders, and digital marketing experts from around the world. This conference provided a deep dive into cutting-edge SEO strategies, including link building techniques, the use of AI in content creation, and international SEO best practices. It was an incredible opportunity to network with leading minds in the SEO field. My experience extended beyond the conference when I checked into a fully digital hotel in Hanoi. After landing in Hanoi for a late check-in, I experienced a fully automated hotel process. From entering my room using a digital code to navigating a digitally controlled environment, the experience was seamless but initially overwhelming. This high-tech setup required no physical interaction and demonstrated how businesses could operate smoothly 24/7 using digital solutions. This experience highlighted a valuable lesson: introducing elements of curiosity and slight anxiety can engage and create memorable customer interactions. Just as the hotel leverages digital tools to operate round-the-clock without physical staff, websites too can transform into efficient, always-on sales engines with minimal reliance on manual intervention. It's been a week since being at brightonSEO with Scarlett Baguley and my head is still full of all the amazing ideas I picked up over the few days! I'm also currently pulling together ideas from Rin Hamburgh, Gareth Beck and Lorcan Fearon for various client projects - and there are loads more fantastic things to try out after that! I love this event, and this has been my favourite one yet! Today is the first day of brightonSEO the largest SEO conference there is. 📃 We have reviewed the agenda and tried our best to split our time to take notes and digest the huge amount of information coming at us in each session. Some sessions aren’t anything new but good that I still know what I am talking about after 18 years in this industry. 📈 Others have been enlightening, showing just how much AI can help automate the data scraping and analysis of digital and ask metrics and information. 🤖 This is where AI adds value, not automating poor website content which adds no customer or client value, and as I expected these SEO and digital companies for the most part are launching AI processes that actually work! ✅ The challenge we face is being able to prioritise and build this into the work we do, it’s a huge task to undertake, but something which could unlock enormous time saving and value add activity to a deep level for our websites. 🆓 For now, it’s more sessions today and tomorrow, maybe with the odd freebie from one of the many sponsors at this event. 🏨 Nice to see our hotel Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel benefiting from this conference as well, a fair few lanyards on show in the hotel! #brightonseo #seo #digitalmarketing #hospitality #brightonseo2024 #aimbridgedigital
