🚴♂️ The Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) Urges Vigilance in E-bike Reporting 🚴♀️ We've noticed a concerning trend where some media outlets are inappropriately using the term "e-bike," which can mislead the public. We encourage cycle shop owners and enthusiasts to be vigilant and challenge misrepresentations in the media. It’s essential that we don't let misunderstandings or sensationalism hinder the adoption of e-bikes as a sustainable and inclusive mode of transport. Recently, an ACT member successfully prompted the BBC to amend an article that wrongly implied a connection between an accident and e-bike use. This correction serves as a reminder of the power of accurate reporting. Through the 'E-Bike Positive' campaign, we’re helping the public identify reputable, safe e-bike products and understand the true benefits of e-bikes. I got the opportunity to talk in the Dutch fleet and lease Magazine to talk how a S-Pedelec can be interesting for fleet managers and for leasing companies. In Belgium the S-Pedelec market is dominated by 70 % already by leasing which I strongly believe will be in other markets as well a fast growing segment. Germany's 2023 cycling market numbers shown the same direction with approx 1 Mion Bikes were sold as a leased bike. There is no reason that a premium e-bike should not be offered as a leasing bike and it makes the e-bike more accessible to more people and more affordable for a quality e-bike. TANDEM GROUP PLC poised to start selling VanMoof e-bikes ⚡🚲 Birmingham-based Tandem Group plc is poised to start selling Dutch firm VanMoof's e-bikes in the fourth quarter this year, after striking an exclusive distribution and sales deal. The AIM-listed sports and leisure goods firm said the first batch of VanMoof's e-bikes are set to arrive soon and after onboarding and training, it will start selling VanMoof's S5 and A5 e-bikes - later in Q4, with more products following early next year. VanMoof will be distributed alongside Tandem's existing British brands, including Dawes, Claud Butler, Elswick, Falcon, Pure and Squish, the award-winning lightweight children's bike range.
