That’s how I do it.
Got a call last minute (0000hrs) to fill a site 24/7 Coverage by a client. Needed 2 S/O’s on days 1 S/O on Nights. He needed it to start in 6hrs and just over 100mi from our base. So we called our people & got the staff. Our C.E.O. S. Murphy and 2 others got a go bag and headed out. They were onsite 1hr early and even got the guys hotels for the whole week! Our C.E.O. Even goes out and works with his team. Interesting fact is when he is out covering a shift for someone. He doesn’t show his title. He even answers to the on duty supervisor if needed as he is not there in that role and trusts his team to handle it like he isn’t there!

Getting the #right #talent is becoming a #worse #process nowadays and #hiring them is even worse enough but I don't hesitate in listening to them. I found this process very interesting. I also enjoy their view on a particular #work. How they think to do a #job in a different and #effective way. Last month I hired a #candidate for my #hotel on a higher #payscale than a #budgeted one and I found yes I was right in hiring him. He captured so quickly then a candidate I suppose to hire on our budgeted payscale. That allows me to make less efforts on his #training. A few line #documentaries or budget is not enough to hire the #right #fit #candidate.

An untold story . . . During job, the company had a policy of providing shared accommodation for the one-year period due to frequent travel across different manufacturing plants and dealerships for training. In the second month, Her roommate tested positive for COVID-19. Concerned about our safety, She requested separate accommodation from HR until the roommate recovered. Initially, HR instructed her to arrange alternative accommodation at our own expense. Given that plants are in remote locations, finding suitable accommodation was extremely challenging and stressful. After spending a day in a lounge, management finally confirmed new accommodation for her. Fearing exposure to COVID-19, she also asked HR to assist in retrieving her belongings from the shared room. The company decided to keep the roommate in the same room and allowed her to move around the hotel without informing the staff about her condition. HR refused her request for help and instructed her to retrieve our luggage by themselves. When she continued to seek assistance, HR stopped responding to her emails. Left with no other options, she approached the CHRO to intervene and requested the hotel management to ensure her roommate quarantined herself to protect others' safety. In response, HR threatened to terminate her employment if she contacted anyone else in the office or hotel.
